are you running any other av program?

sometimes there are conflicts when trying to install a new one when you already have one on your computer.

also, this might be nothing, but i read on another forum that the free 6 months is only for the chinese version. maybe the error has something to do with that

this error nothing for kav anti virus

just a guess but maybe that error is b/c the key had a limited lifespan. sometimes you have to register the product within 24 hours or it wont be good anymore. i know you dont want to, but maybe try going through the registration process again and get a new key and see if you still get the same error
