I don't know if you're into making Gadgets for Vista or just the XP version, but something I haven't seen yet is a working Windows Mail (not live mail) sidebar gadget. There's one out there I've seen, but it uses Outlook icons, and there aren't any options with it like setting the 'check new mail' interval.

A 'feature' I wonder about is it possible to made the sidebar 'autohide' like you can make the taskbar at the bottom do?
