  1. Thanks for the help. I attached the xml of the version I have and the windows PE xml - since it is a sysprep/imagex build. Sorry it took me a while - but other work had me stuck. Great work on the WinKit new version! - yet same error on it as well...I can edit WIM name, but when I try the description - I always get a error box titled "Error setting WIM info" and message "The parameter is incorrect"...why this error keeps following me I have no idea. Still using the older win7 toolkit 1.3.0.5 to fully rename/edit both name and description of WIM's since it still works for some reason. Hope this helps - but if not - let me know if anything else. Thanks again Wyatt 1.xml Ultimate.xml
  2. As always...very nice work! - all seems great with the new tool except still having a problem when using the WIM manager tool - I can edit/rename the WIM name, and it works, but every time I select to edit the WIM description, I get an error message box titled "Error setting WIM info" and message "The Parameter is incorrect". The old WIN7 Toolkit version (1.3.0.5) - lets me rename both the WIM name and Description just fine for some reason. I have tried the other updated versions of WIN7 Toolkit after 1.3.0.5 before the new Winkit release, and also had the same problem...no description renaming would work - just no error messages...change just would not show in field...just blank actually. I cannot understand why this one particular error keeps happening - especially since trying all the updated versions and still having to use the older version to edit names and descriptions of WIMS for DVD install. Any further suggestions would be great - not sure what is going wrong (or I am doing wrong).... Thanks for your time!
  3. Thanks for the response and assistanceLegolash2o - however I did try the latest version (1.3.0.102) - and I still get the same issue. When I use the WIM manager, selecting a WIM that is already named after using WAIK/imagex - the name shows, and description says usual "No Description", but when I select to edit the description...the new edit will not show...always still says "No Description". When I use the older version (1.3.0.5), it does fine...edits and shows the description name, as well as the WIM name itself. Any further insight(s) would be appreciated.
  4. One issue I am having with the 1.3.0.98 Release - is in the WIM manager. If I select the WIM to edit, such as name or description...and type in the text as usual - it refuses to show the change(s) within the GUI - as if it just ignored the edit. I just went back to the 1.3.0.5 version being able to use this feature where it still works fine....until this particular issue can be addressed. Thanks for your time!
  5. K...makes sense - lol....didn't consider "update" & msu - but that should do the trick. Will give it a shot. THANKS for the info!!
  6. First...I want to say that I used Windows t Toolkit 1.0.2.36 - and all worked out really great! - except for one integration in particular - Internet Explorer 9. I used the same silent switch command I always have elsewhere that worked out (/quiet /update-no /norestart) but for some reason, its not installing at all upon final OS installation, remains IE 8. This was a x64 bit Win7 also, and used x64 IE original installer plus switch command, so I assume rest of Wim's same failure. Is there a better switch to use within the toolkit? or is there an actual addon already set to go that will install completely? I only had that one fail - .Net Framework 4.0 Client and Silverlight 4 worked out with original installers & switch commands tho. Just wanted to get a grip on this one issue before compiling Wims again. Only other minor issue is that custom setup screen chosen goes away about mid-install (reverts to default again) and desktop custom background doesn't apply either - again same x64 Win7 integration/install...beats me why that happens...? Other than those couple of issues,I was impressed how precise the toolkit finalized the OS customization, and especially the full editing and merging of Wims, really cool & powerful tool for those of us who are in pursuit of own "libraries" of setups with Win7...and since Win 8 is on the horizon, kinda great to seal them up in prep for the next phaze of MS. Anyway...any helpful input on the matter is appreciated! Thanks!
