EDIT: Never mind, I was wrong. WU still asks for 2 components after setupcomplete:
-
@rhahgleuhargh
Mine continually removes KB3023607... going to try adding 3607 via setupcomplete.cmd & see what happens.
-
The 5.2 MB is KB3023607, it's bundled with both updates
deepclean removes superseded updates correctly
WU is the one requesting superseded updates, it's a total mess in Windows 7
Yes it is a mess, integrated KB3023607 into ISO & WU is satisfied. Run deepclean & it removes KB3023607 :dizzy: ... WU then asks for KB3032359/KB3021952 (5.2mb ea)... install, run deepclean, removes KB3023607 :ranting: ...rinse, repeat... :help:

EDIT: If I choose to hide KB3032359/KB3021952 (5.2mb ea), WU then asks for KB3008923 ...

KB3021952 still needed...

Links to IE11 cabs (for integration) :
(English only, you still have to add Language pack cab and spelling & hyphenation msu for your specific language, you can take them from IE11setup.exe or from the individual links below).

x86:http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=299198
Links don't work.
EDIT: Just saw post #29 TY!

.....
Hmm, strange my deepclean log shows KB3006226 as valid & "applicable"
....Sorry, I can't confirm it, see my post #416.
Thiersee
Ahh, I see... I have KB3020338 hidden (along with M$E, Silverlight & 27 KB's - see attached .VBS script) thus you're apparently correct: 3020338 supersedes 3006226 though I can't find anything from M$ to document that. Thank you again
EDIT: Confirmed, installed KB3020338, deepclean adds KB3006226 as superseded:

Removed from my pack and/or after deepclean scan (I can't remember which was which)
KB3006226, KB3013126
After that, WU doesn't offer me anything, which is good, lol

thanks guys for all these infos.
So, for IE 11, only KB3021592 and KB3023607 seem to be needed. I'm just testing a fresh install in VM to check if previous IE 11 updates are needed or not (KB2976627 for ex).
EDIT: You're welcome thank you for your hard work, it's very much appreciated.
I'm anxious for your result, I may try something similar I was wondering the same about KB2976627... last time I left it out WU asked for it although it was (allegedly) superseded (in succession) by KB2977629 - KB2987107 - KB3003057 - KB3008923 - KB3021952
-
@Pink_Freud
It seems the 5,2 MB WU requested is KB3023607...
Yes, confirmed by uninstalling KB3023607 (after installed thru WU "bundle" KB3021592, 55mb) then re-checked WU, asked for KB3021592 5.2mb... installed standalone 3023607 manually recheck WU ask only MSRT.
Edit to add: Also test install in VM with KB3021592 (49.8mb) & KB3023607 (5.2mb) integrated DISM WU ask only MSRT

Here's a list of this month's updates. I compared the list of superseded updates (from microsoft update catalog) for every KB with your january list:
KB3004361
KB3004375
KB3013455 supersedes KB3002885
KB3023562
KB3029944 supersedes KB3013126
KB3031432 supersedes KB3023266
KB2952664
KB3004394
KB3020338
KB3021917
KB3021952 supersedes KB3008923
KB3034196 requested after reboot
Same list as mine... also note that KB3021952 (IE 11 Cum Updt) is another "bundle" update thru WU that installs 3021952 & also KB3023607 so KB3023607 should be included in list... Download 3021952 thru M$ Catalog Updates includes both 3021952 (49mb)& 3023607 (5.2mb - 55mb total) - both must be integrated for clean WU tested in VM vs only KB3021952 (49.8 mb) thru M$ Download Center, no standalone KB3023607 Direct d/l link for KB3023607 x64 in WU log: http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2015/01/windows6.1-kb3023607-x64_cfdc9171dc78c679a3daf3b33aa2a9e362c292b2.msu

Hi rhahgleuhargh,
do you need the links?
I've the list ready.
I did not test an installation yet.
A noter que KB3023266 est censée être remplacée par KB3031432 mais n'est pas nettoyée par le deep-clean...
If you proof KB3023266 in MS-Update Catalog it says, this KB has been replaced by KB3031432 and KB3008483.
Thiersee
Yes, that's correct. Also note KB3021952 (IE11 Cumalative update) supersedes KB3008923 but also is not cleaned up by deepclean. I uninstalled KB3023266 and KB3008923 on VM & "live" system, installed KB3021952 & KB3031432 thru WU, re-checked WU came back "clean" (no updates to install).
KB3008483 is incorrect # s/b KB3000483... KB3000483 is installed in "bundle" update with KB3004375 (or vice-versa?)...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3000483
How do I get this update? The functionality discussed in this advisory can be obtained by installing the 3004375 update directly (see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 3004375). Note that the update is also bundled with the updates being released in MS15-011 (see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 3000483) and MS15-015 (see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 3031432). Either update will install the 3004375 update automatically.

M$ has pulled KB3004394 (for Windows 7) from it's servers. Apparently the update for win 7 x64 did not install a catalog file (kinda important detail, no?) User "bird" reported this finding VBox Ticket #13677
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/13677
From what I can tell, the KB3004394 update does not install a catalog file on 64-bit windows 7. It does on Windows 8.1 (C:\Windows\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\Package_1_for_KB3004394~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0.cat), so VBox works fine there.
The result of the missing .cat file is that VBox (nor SysInternal's SigCheck.exe for that matter) is not able to verify the authenticity of c:\windows\system32\crypt32.dll and wintrust.dll. If we cannot find any valid signature for the files, we have to assume that they have been tampered with and are forced to abort application loading. These two dlls are important for validating other components, so there is absolutely no way we can ignore this.
Until Microsoft fixes the KB3004394 update on Windows 7, the only solution is to revert/uninstall it.
-
Just double checked my VM all updates integrated w DISM, 2 "non-integratable" updates (KB2533552 & KB971033) failed to install by setupcomplete.cmd so it appears KB3004394 prevented their installation.
-
It's official: M$ Updates Screwed the Pooch...again:
-
Another thread @SevenForums reporting sfc /scannow bug with KB3004394 seemingly the culprit:
-
1) KB3004394 seems NOT to be integratable!
KB3004394 (x64) integrates with no problem for me (tested in VM)
2) Since today WU is asking for KB3006625 (critical, not optional!); there are only two problems with this update:
KB3006625 is one of 27 updates I have hidden, along with MSE, Silverlight & Bing crap

I think it does NOT replace KB2976627!
I just tested on W7 Prof x64 (real HW) without KB2976627, installed before 30-11: WU asked for KB3008923 AND KB 2976627.
Thiersee
Same here, tested on VM, same result as Thiersee.

@Pink_Freud,
KB2952664 is often asked by WU (just perform a deep clean after WU and you'll see that the previous version is deleted) ; I just checked the KB version in Windows Update Catalog website.
Thank you for reply. 2952664 v7 was not offered thru WU... I dl'd v7 from catalog, uninstalled v6 rebooted & installed v7. As for KBKB3008923...
IE 11 : KB3008923 remplace KB3003057 ( ?) à vérifier s'il remplace aussi KB2976627 ?
Installed KB3008923 thru WU (along with 8 other updates & MSRT) rebooted & ran deepclean... KB3003057 was not cleaned up :dizzy: "skipped...due to applicability"
Edit KB # 3008923

Thank you for this information, I did not see this. If I may please ask, from where did you find this information (v7)?

Is this project DOA?

Thank you ricktendo!

I did not remove via deepclean (due to problem above with 3023607 lol) but uninstalled it, rebooted & WU came back clean
