Vista functions with a maximum of 2 CPUs. There is no maximum number of cores. However there has been some discussion that the efficiency of Vista starts to drop off when there are more than 4 cores. Shocked It is hoped that Vista SP1 will fix this inefficiency problem because having 8 cores is quite possible today.
