Actually there already is a solution for missed dreamscene feature from Windows 7, but that one has some bugs in self like icons text are losing white color and so on. Whit this software you can play and pause dreamscene, and Dreamscene them make updates and bug fix it till today.

So is it possible to be created?

  3. Actually Media Center is in the install.wim you need to unlock it.

Follow this steps and you gonna update your Windows 8.1 Pro Preview to 'Windows 8.1 Pro Preview with Media Center'.

    mount your install.wim image #1

    dism image:C:\temp /Set-Edition:ProfessionalWMC

Save and Unmount and now your install.wim will contain two images

    #1

Windows 8.1 Pro Preview with Media Center

    #2

    Windows 8.1 Preivew (Core Edition)

Probably now you gonna stack with serial number, because there is no such provided by Microsoft, and you cannot use that one what is intended for upgrade (add features).

This is was possible in Windows 8 build 8250 and 8400 becuase there was product.ini file on the disk (in sources) where serial number was provided.

  4. Put the INF in a \cmpnents\mediactr\i386 sub folder or edit the [sourceDisksNames] in medctroc.inf to remove that sub dir and just put all files in the same dir

How exactly to edit [sourceDisksNames] in medctroc.inf?

Should I delete whole row or something else?

Also for example I want to run install.bat from any local path (temp, cd, etc), and can you tell me how should be the structure in the folder

    folder: MCEforNT51

file 1: mediactr.cab (is it possible to include October 2006 update ?)

    file2: medctroc.inf

         row n:  [sourceDisksNames]

        row n+1:  ---  blank ---

    file 3: install.bat

                  rundll32 syssetup,SetupInfObjectInstallAction Freestyle 128 medctroc.inf

  5. Hi there,

I've found a lot of add-on packages and tranform packages for MCE, but what I want is Media Center EXE or MSI installer which can be able to install mce on every Windows NT 5.1 (xp, server 2003, x64, xp betas).

My idea comes from this topic

    needed files:

    medctroc.inf file and mediactr.cab

    command:

    rundll32 syssetup,SetupInfObjectInstallAction Freestyle 128 medctroc.inf

but I don't want to search for mediactr.cab, I want to fully automated this process.

last action is tweak nt to convert edition to mce - I think this can be manage with registry setting.

Is not really metter how gonna be batch, exe, msi installer, I just want to be automated and if possible to be updated to last version 3011.

  6. I've very bad and strange expirience with version WinToolkit v1.4.1.16. When I put it in my drive D:\xxxx and make shortcut from it on Desktop, after 2-click / enter WinToolkit doesn't want to run at all, after close and re-open explorer the shortcut wasn't there (on Desktop), I've made a new shortcut and after 2-click shortcut automaticaly delete it self?! And I've tried this two-three times more and I always got the same result.

After that I've to move WinTookit.exe on the Desktop and run it from there. It start without any problem... but after couple of minutes all icons, files and folders from Desktop ware deleted - not exactly all of them - I've checked the folders from explorer and I've found that some thing delete all files in C:\Users\MyProfile\Desktop, but not in C:\Users\All Users\Desktop - so for that reasons shortcuts from other programs what ware created for All Users remain on my Desktop.

I've test WinToolkit for file infections and Microsoft Security Essentials give me positive malware on the file (file was downloaded via autoupdate from Windows 7 x64, before I've used version 1.4.1.14 - and everything was fine).

I've used almost every new version of WinToolkit from 2009 till now. In this moment I'm using old version 1.4.1.14 - and again everything is fine, except lossing of 28GB files from Desktop :( because of version v1.4.1.16.

  7. For collection reasons I want the follow things:

1 - All released updates for Developer and Consumer Previews for both 32 and 64-bit version.

2 - BackUp of activation of Developer and Consumer Previews for both 32 and 64-bit version.

They who has Windows 8 DP or CP installed and activated will help me very easy.

    - You can collect all updates with WinToolkit and packed in archive.

    - Activation can be backuped / archived with Advanced Tokens manager.

I've done this so far for RP for both 32 and 64-bit.

And because we talking here about sharing Beta activations which ware available for all of us - isn't piracy.

    ,thanks in advance
