  1. I was hoping the bug has been fixed by now and tried crafting a new image. I still experience the exact same problem as I described above. That is, x86 build working fine and x64 setup entering restart loop. :g:22-11-2011_08-18-59.ini
  2. I noticed the location of the Autounattend file is not saved in the .ini anymore. Also, previously I could have two different installers under the same name, for example both x86 & x64 installers of VC++ Runtimes. Now it seems only the first entry of the two is loaded from the .ini. v74, you will have to re-save your presets as the issue was with saving the location of the xml file.
  3. Tweaks > Shortcut suffix should be shortcut prefix?
  4. Maybe implementing some presets would help, like 'Choose which features you don't use'? 'advanced/corporate networking features' would select everything under Networking and IIS 'virtualization' would select HyperV, VirtualPC 'mobile PC', 'Windows Media Player/Center', 'Printing' etc in the same fashion.
  5. About disappearing Taskbar icon... for me it happens when I create ISO and click OK on the completion notice while the main window is behind other windows. I accidentally killed W7T a few times by Task Manager before noticing that the program window is still open in the background.
  6. You asked for grammar - well now you got it! I think the language on the start screen is a bit inconsistent. On one button, AIO is used, while on the other All-In-One is spelled out. Maybe using All-In-One throughout would be better. Also, I would rename 'Create AIO Disk' to 'AIO (or All-In-One) Disk Creator' to fit in better with Maker, Manager, Editor etc. Moving on to the Tweaks section, where the dragons be. I propose losing the hyphens: Context-menu > Context Menu (both the category name and in every tweak); Start-up/Shutdown > Startup & Shutdown Maybe remove 'Logon' and move items to 'Startup & Shutdown'? And maybe remove 'Firewall' and 'Windows Media Player' and move items to 'Misc'? I just don't see the point in having a separate category for 3 items - unless you have plans for adding items, ofcourse. Also, double, single and no quotation marks are used all over the place - I propose changing them all to single. 'Context Menu' section. I suspect 'God mode' and 'All tasks' are referring to the same thing, but I'm not certain as I cannot see their registry entries. If they are in fact the same, I suggest leaving only one - 'All Tasks' (as 'God Mode' is clearly arbitrary). Or if you want to be hip, name it 'W7T Mode'! Can't be bothered: I know this thread is not for feature requests, so let's consider this as an upgrade to an existing feature. I suggest merging 'Admin Tools', 'Manage' and 'Services' into one neat cascading 'Administrative Tools' context menu. I also suggest merging 'Take Ownership' for files/folders (see here). Also, are 'Task Manager' and 'Programs & Features' added to Desktop or Computer menu or somewhere else? I suggest moving them to Desktop menu, if not already there. Can't be bothered to remove, someone will complain there isn't one anyway: Is there really need for tooltips as all the items are quite self-explaining? So in my mind the list should be as follows. Add 'Copy To Folder...' to context menu Add 'Move To Folder...' to context menu Add 'Defragment' to Desktop context menu Add 'Programs & Features' to Desktop context menu (make sure it actually uses Desktop!) Add 'Task Manager' to Desktop context menu (make sure...) Add 'Open CMD Here' to Folder context menu Add 'Open Elevated CMD Here' to Folder context menu Add 'Take Ownership' to File and Folder context menu Add 'Unpack' to *.msi files context menu Remove 'Add to Windows Media Player list' from context menu Remove 'Print' from context menu Remove 'Troubleshoot Compatibility' from context menu Desktop: First of all: remove the Avalon effects thingy. It turns out to be a tweak used to enable some half-baked eyecandy back in the days of Longhorn still being developed on top of XP codebase. Maybe consider removing or at least hiding 'Disable Feedback Tool' for the time being. Surely nobody uses Windows 7 beta any more. Maybe enable it again when Windows 8 beta comes out. Can't be bothered to remove, someone will complain there isn't one anyway: Here too, tooltips seem redundant. Delay Aero Peek 500ms Display Gadgets when UAC off Large Taskbar previews Small Taskbar icons Unlock Taskbar Combine buttons only when Taskbar is full Remove Action Center icon Show 'Computer' on Desktop Show 'Control Panel' on Desktop Show 'Network' on Desktop Show User Folder on Desktop Should I continue? How about simply 'Choose your language'?
  7. Some component descriptions, the meaning or risks of which I currently can't grasp even with help from Google: Mobile PC Client Components Basic / Premium Printing Premium Tools Windows (Sidebar) Killbits I don't know what they are either If you know what they do, perhaps you could write it down? And maybe someone could tell us what the Avalon effects do? Also, in the Silent / SFX tab, moving installers up or down the queue is rather counter-intuitive. If you move the last installer in the 'Always' category upwards, it magically teleports to 'Prompt' category! Keep pressing the upwards button and you'll be thrown back to 'Always' category.
  8. To get proofing tools in my native language (Estonian), I use Office 2010 Proofing Tools Kit Compilation in addition to Office 2010. When installidng, sShould I place all SoLoR updates to the main Office 'Updates' folder or should I move/copy some files to Office PTK 'Updates' folder?
  9. I vote for removal. Besides other fine points made above, to me it would make more sense to add features first and then translate once, as opposed to translate --> add/change features --> worry about fixing translation.
  10. Untampered 7 Pro sp1 x64. Integrated all SoLoR updates from main folder and IE9 & Virtual PC. Didn't touch anything else. Setup enters infinite error-restart loop.
  11. I also integrate ALL SoLoR updates. When I include autunattend.xml, I receive a message "windows could not apply unattend settings during pass [offlineservicing]". When I don't include autounattend.xml, the installer enters the restart loop. But this only happens on x64 version, x86 seems to work fine. W7Tx64.ini
  12. I want to install Windows 7 from my USB hard drive. Since I don't want to erase everything on the drive, is it possible to use a single partition for that purpose?
  13. Thanks a lot guys! However, the AIO Tool only allows me to integrate .themepack files, but not .theme files. Hence the question. Would changing the file extension work?
  14. First of all I'd like to say I simply love this tool. It appears there's no guide for the AIO tool so I'm bound to ask some questions in order to help myself and possibly others get the most out of it. 1. I want to apply the exact same custom settings to all versions of Windows in an image. When I choose 'Select All' in the WIM Manager, that causes the AIO tool to run 5 times in a row, once per Windows version. Am I doing it wrong or is there actually no way to do it in a single run? 2. Is there a way to actually reduce the size of the WIM? As far as I can tell, removing components from a single version of Windows does not achieve that. Would the WIM file become smaller if I let it run 5 times as described above? 3. I keep getting small popup windows with "hi" and "bye"... Is there a way to disable them? That's also the main reason I'm reluctant to run the AIO Tool 5 times in a row. :g: 4. Would it be feasible to include non-silent installers or just some utilities in setup? Would the W7T installer wait until the non-silent installer has finished or I have closed the utility? 5. I noticed SoLoR Updates do not include IE9 or Virtual PC (I need just Virtual PC, not the XP Mode download). Would integrating either of them cause any problems? Should I add them to the beginning or the end of the updates queue? Are there any updates to either of them besides KB2559049? 6. Is there a way to integrate .theme files besides creating an add-on for that? 7. After applying custom .reg files, I noticed these files had beed altered and WIM_ added to all keys, in example HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\... vould become HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WIM_SOFTWARE\... Is that a known bug? Thanks in advance!
  15. An option to remove Paint and WordPad, please! Did I mention this program is awesome?
  16. I also have a few suggestions. ; Disable Browser Choice Update Screen (for Users in EU) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BrowserChoice] "Enable"=dword:00000000 ;Enable "Pin to Start Menu" Option for Folders [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\{a2a9545d-a0c2-42b4-9708-a0b2badd77c8}] ; Add Custom Default Time Server (Example) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DateTime\Servers] @="0" "0"="ntp.estpak.ee" ;Change the Default Update Interval to One Day [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient] "SpecialPollInterval"=dword:00015180 Keep up the good work! :prop:
