  1. Congratulations! Everyday is now "Father's Day". From the father of two beautiful daughters, I have this advice: Your life as you knew it is now gone. Your existence will now revolve around your daughter, and you'll love her for that! Enjoy your new arrival, and get sleep while you can!
  2. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPo...1&SiteID=17 5503 isn't intended for public consumption...yet.
  3. Here it is! Anxiously awaiting beta 8.1 with the above.
  4. Do you know where to find the left bitmap for the "System Restore" tab? Also, the bmp for the "Automatic Updates" tab isn't working for me. The resource is there, but it's not getting applied.
  5. I agree, no icon. Yes, the icon is visible in Vista, and yes it actually does something. But having non-functional eyecandy present just to make XP more Vista'ish doesn't make much sense to me.
  6. Wow Rhor, Very nice indeed. I'm trying this now on a VM install to test. Looks pretty cool. I'm torn between this and Ricks pack. I'm still leaning towards Ricks though since it's more Vista'ish.
  7. Is anyone working on extracting the resources from the pack posted here? http://fishy-fish.deviantart.com/gallery/ Since they've been extracted from Vista itself, they should be even better than what's already in V'ISO...right? Just another way to improve an already awesome utility! Thanks again Rick! *Edit Nevermind, V'Iso already implements all of these icons. V'Iso is perfecto!
  8. Has anyone seen a run box patcher with the logo from Portal? That would be killer!
  9. 27.112 on the fourth try. I give up!
  10. Looks like your "true black" is getting lost to transparency. How are you doing the color conversion?
  11. Hi Kels, This is great, I love this utility. I found a problem however. When the switchless installer is run from WPIW 6.3 during runonceex, the install hangs and WPIW won't progress to the next installer. The only way for WPIW to progress is to force-quit the vista-drive installer process from the task manager. Any ideas?
  12. Hi Helmi. Yeah, I figured it out already. It is caused by Ricks V'iso pack (reported here: http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?sho...mp;st=180 ) Like you pointed out, it's not really a bug, but an option that is changed by default. I'm just not used to seeing it 'on' by default.
  13. Absolutely! I've got no issues at all. The only other tweaks I made were some of the extras Amnesia made. Oh, and the shutdown/logoff dialog from this post
  14. Woohoo! Thanks guys! This pack is getting better and better!
  15. [smacks forehead] Ay Caramba! OK, thanks for confirming the issue. I thought it was the new .msc files. I couldn't figure out how to edit it myself. I was going crazy. :confused02: So, how to fix it prior to integration? Thanks again guys!
  16. Rick, I found a bug in V'ISO b7.2 When you integrate V'ISO, then build an ISO and test in VM or real hardware, the Device Manager shows an entry for "Non-Plug and Play Drivers". This issue only happens when V'ISO is applied. To either a virgin SP2/IE7/WMP11 source, or a heavily modified source. I haven't yet tried an untouched SP2 source (no IE7 or WMP), but I'd bet $$ the issue would remain. The contents of the "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" heading are: AFD Beep dmboot dmload E-mu Plug-in architecture driver EraserUtilRebootDrv There's about 20 more items. None of them have a HWID (Hardware ID) associated with them, so they are not chunks of hardware with no driver, they are all software pieces used by the OS. This was originally reported here Any idea which .res module is causing the fault? I just want to point out that there are NO other problems (hardware related), and this is just an annoyance-bug. Thanks!
  17. Thanks Rick. This is the best transformation pack yet!
  18. Hi Kal, How did you do that? I know the file to edit is shell32.dll. Just open "%windir%\System32\Shell32.dll" file in Resource Hacker and then goto: Dialog -> 1020 -> 1033 But what did you put in the script?
  19. Yup, that's the screenie. wrx, you and I need to get together and figure out what's causing this. You can email me at mr_smartepants -at- driverpacks -dot- net I'll be starting again from ground-zero.
  20. Hi Kel, Thanks for this, it's awesome! Quick question, I'm seeing a whole list of items under the heading "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" in the Device Manager. Ordinarily I'd suspect a driver issue, but the items under the heading have titles such as: AFD Beep dmboot dmload E-mu Plug-in architecture driver EraserUtilRebootDrv There's about 20 more items. None of them have a HWID (Hardware ID) associated with them, so they are not chunks of hardware with no driver, they are all software pieces used by the OS. Is this related to this addon? This heading doesn't exist on my current install which doesn't include this addon. Any idea?
  21. VERY nice wallpaper on one of them. Where does she hide that pistol?
  22. When you installed XP/Vista, did you have the card physically connected at the time of the install? Or did you install it later once Windows was done installing itself? The reason I ask is I had a similar problem with a UK BT wireless PCI card. The card requires the drivers be installed FIRST, then the computer shut down and install the card.
  23. Well, if you use *, XP just places default values for those sections. So your computer name would end up like "DH380GHS0E" or some other gibberish. That's all.
