Rick's pack is fine to integrate although it still contains VC7 which is included in my updatepack. all you need is VC8,9,10 as i don't include them. Jaynbe has an addon for VC as well. the KB that you are being nagged for is for VC 2008 (VC9). that has nothing to do with my update pack.

there are choices available for ,Net installers because each does the integration/install differently. do yourself a favor and update to SP3....stability and security.

if you are asking if this can be used for SP2......i guess so. but why are you still on SP2 and not updated to SP3 ?
