Managing Vista System Resources

Recommended Posts

The following 14-page PDF tutorial describes how Vista goes about managing some of the system resources.

Managing System Resources

Vista is not only a multi-tasking OS but it is also a multi-processing OS (assuming that you have more than a single core). Vista functions with a maximum of 2 CPUs. There is no maximum number of cores. However there has been some discussion that the efficiency of Vista starts to drop off when there are more than 4 cores. Shocked It is hoped that Vista SP1 will fix this inefficiency problem because having 8 cores is quite possible today.
