  2. Correct, but I'll have to buy custom skin that costs a lot.

I was thinking about leaving only this skin and maybe one or two max.

I presume that most users aren't using other skins than default one..

I actually don't use the tab based skins. There's just something about them I don't care for at all. Even now I'm using Xmas Notab and I rather like it.

  3. It's hard to say which is better. I've sold all kinds and mostly they are all pretty good (Maxtor, WD, Seagate). The only brand I've consistantly had problems with is Hitachi. Every brand has a bad apple once in a while. If you are repeatedly burning out drives, it's most likely beyond luck. Google did a study of hd's on their servers and they claim the temperature did not affect the lifespan. I don't buy it but who knows. Possibly a bad power supply giving it inconsistant power or even power surges. Brownouts are really bad. Surge strips don't stand a chance against them.

    Have a link, by chance?

In all of my experiences, Seagate is the best (topped with a 5 year warranty!)

  4. One of my replacements just arrived. 160GB 7200RPM Hitachi SATA2 drive. They told me it was going to be a Seagate, so I called and told them and they simply apologized. After giving them some grief they told me as per customer satisfaction, I will be getting a replacement hard drive made by Seagate.

  5. You removed a required DLL that handles treeviews.

Your best bet is like N1K said, format C: and reinstall from your original Windows cd. Unfortunately you've learned the hard way why every tech or pc expert with common sense will recommend that you avoid nLite/vLite. It strips out services and other necessary features in a very dangerous and malicious manner.

nLite/vLite is not needed, even in this day and age. Hard drives are more than large enough, and RAM is plentiful in size and affordable. A regular install of Windows works perfectly for every purpose needed.
