You can't update something when there's nothing to update.
-
^ That's probably because the .wa addons aren't meant to perform cleanup before installation, whereas the repack is.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 7
shhnedo replied to abbodi1406's topic in Win Toolkit Addons
If you need to install .net framework 4.8 on a live system, you should download and install this: https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/2d6bb6b2-226a-4baa-bdec-798822606ff1/8494001c276a4b96804cde7829c04d7f/ndp48-x86-x64-allos-enu.exe -

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 7

By integrating KB4486153. In any case, this isn't the right place to ask. The thread is meant for Windows 7. -
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 7
shhnedo replied to abbodi1406's topic in Win Toolkit Addons
@rulman You don't use any commands. The instructions clearly say the addons need to be placed in the same folder as the updatepack7r2.exe. -
Do some more research on Simplix UpdatePack and use it on a regular windows 7 edition.

[Slim] .NET Framework 4.6.1 Full x86/x64 (2-27-2016)

You should've stopped there. Windows 7 has a lot of obsolete updates and/or updates that are only required to make Windows Update client happy. If you're making your own up-to-date iso, using Windows Update after installation is, imo, pointless.
-
No, just multiple cumulative updates integrate for no reason. For reference, my own x64 AIO (Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise) made using simplix updatepack and abbodi's addons(directx, visual c++, .net framework) is the same size as the single index x64 Ultimate, Pro and Home Premium images. Mine are even more up-to-date than these "official homebrews"...

Is there a Dell specific Win 7 (64) install for the Vostro 3500?
shhnedo replied to Ricknj's topic in Microsoft Windows 7
Just download clean windows 7 sp1 x64 image, simplix it and install it. On Dell's website there aren't all that many drivers for windows 7: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/0-NzVmWG5PRnRDT01aQzFJSVNxUHJUZz090/drivers The diagnostics and firmware/bios stuff you don't really need. -

"Access denied" makes me think "permissions", but even after I take full ownership of C:\ and subfolders, the problem persists. I've tried setting Mount and Temp folders on drive D:\ (yes, drive, not just partition, it's a separate drive), still same problem. I've never experienced this before. All I've done is perform a clean install of Windows 10 on my SSD(I had to).

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 7
shhnedo replied to abbodi1406's topic in Win Toolkit Addons

The recent iso's are badly updated: - more than one CU integrated for w/e reason - all the telemetry is most probably in there - the size of a single index iso is 5GB+, which is roughly the same as a 64-bit AIO with integrated updates, .net 4.8, visual c++ runtimes and directx The common joke is those iso's were made by newbie interns and are really highly NOT recommended. Just download a clean media refresh iso, use simplix updatepack on it(download abbodi's addons and put them next to the updatepack if you want). You'll achieve a much better result.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 7
shhnedo replied to abbodi1406's topic in Win Toolkit Addons
I don't think so. There's no package out there that can be conveniently integrated into windows 7 via dism(similar to windows 10/8). To my knowledge, netfx 4.8 for windows 7 exists only as an .exe package which is to only be used on live systems. -
Can't type in Windows 10 search box after LP slipstream
shhnedo replied to Ricardo Silva's topic in Microsoft Windows 10
@Ricardo Silva If you want an up-to-date 19h2 iso, you shouldn't use a 19h2 iso as base to integrate update/lps. All 19h2 isos are 19h1 base with KB4517245 integrated after the ssu/cu. What you should do: 1. Get a 18362.1 iso for base. 2. Get the LPs for 18362.1 (1903). 3. Get Servicing Stack Update, Cumulative Update, .NET Cumulative Update and KB4517245(use WHDownloader for this one). 4. Integrate LANGUAGE PACKS into boot.wim index 2 and install.wim index *insert your desired index here*. 5. Integrate SSU/CU/.NET CU updates. 6. Integrate KB4517245 !!! AFTER ALL THE OTHER UPDATES !!! (it's a .cab file so don't put it into the same folder as the others, use a separate dism /add-package for it). 7. You have a proper multilingual 19h2 iso. The problem likely comes from you integrating LPs into an iso which has integrated updates(which all 19h2 isos are) and that's known to be a problematic practice.
