  1. You mean the beep? Here's another way. Open your box and disconnect the wire that says speaker.
  2. Hmmm better back up your uxtheme file if you're using SP3.
  3. They did rush it out but don't expect any major bug fixes anytime soon. The fact is, it's more stable than the 2.x line and it supports Vista. My lockup was most likely caused by the fact that I was running vmware and using 50% of my 1 gb ram dedicated to the vm and I'd guess that at least 256 mb was being used by the host and running vmware itself uses a major amount of memory. I normally give vmware about 350 mb to work with instead of 512. That was my bad and I haven't had a single problem since I rebooted after that. Oh I almost forgot to say that my problem had nothing to do with Rick's addon. There are no addons for Vista (yet).
  4. Must be Defense + as I didn't activate that but it popped up a warning or actually a black outline where the warning should be for my vmware connection, then it crashed which started Windows Error Reporting and then that crashed because the firewall was blocking it even though the firewall gui already crashed... :censored:
  5. I thought Comodo v3 sucked. :g: Actually after I told you how good it was on my Vista, it locked up my vmware tighter than a drum an hour later.
  6. That is an annoying bug. Haven't they fixed it in SP3? It doesn't exist in Vista.
  7. Don't try it. Some people are saying that it works on Server 2008 though. That's because the service is still there leftover from Vista but won't start because it's unsupported in Server. Makes sense huh? There is Readyboost for XP though but I just installed a readyboost drive on my Vista and it does nothing whatsoever.
  8. And then you run vmware inside of XP to run linux on right? Seriously though, I had trouble with the media player slipstreamer on Vista too so unless you have a spare XP machine, crazy as it sounds, that's the only option.
  9. By reading this, would I be correct in thinking that vLite would need to do less work if I used cab's instead of the msu's? :g:
  10. Actually, I've seen this problem before. It is a problem because the amount of video ramm Vista thinks you have simply isn't there when Vista calls upon it. The reason it thinks you have it is because it incorrectly identified your video card with one that has a set amount of memory and another set amount stolen from the system memory A.K.A. Turbo Cache. The resolution is to install a newer video card driver but if you have an older card, you'll need a modified .inf to even install it.
  11. Hey guys, I need a little help here. Okay I'm using nlite and have an install disk almost the way I want it now but I was wondering what I can change in the Signed Themes Addon Pack to make Royale Noir be the default theme and maybe a different wallpaper too. Thanks to anyone willing to help me out here.
