Hello SnowBall, thank you very much for helping me and my incontinence, Have found it and downloadet it ( Link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49117 ). When you open it there it asks you to select a Folder to unzip. I made a Folder on the Desktop called "Office" and extracted in there. I open the "configuration-Office2019Enterprise.xml" with the editor and paste what you have postet above.(Have changed Bit to 64) Now it looks so: I klick the setup.exe , there comes a windows up and very quick closes again. And not more happens.... What i doing wrong please? Edited November 15, 2018 by Hermanter
SnowBall
Humm... thanks for the new link. From the screenshot, you will be installing a 64 bit version which is not recommended by Microsoft as it will cause problems with plugins, please consider change it to 32 bit even your are on 64 bit OS. The code: setup.exe /configure configuration-Office2019Enterprise.xml You need a bit of flexibility here, anyway it should work. Just want to make sure that you have the right edition, which edition did you buy? If it is not Pro Plus, comment below and I will get you a new code, if it is Pro Plus, then you are all good. SnowBall
Hi, have you uninstall Office 2019? What is the edition of Office you want to install (ProPlus, HomeStudent, HomeBusiness, Office365, Pro or single apps), in other words, which edition is your key for? Please tell me (Very important) Make sure you uninstall Office completely, restart your computer and try again. SnowBall
Actually, do you have other versions of Office installed? if you do, they might be the cause of the problem. Hermanter

Peter Frommann
Hi there. I have a question too. Just bought a retail-key for a few bucks and downloaded the german retail ISO from above (2019 Pro Plus). Then I uninstalled 2016ProPlusRetail via Deployment Tool and installed 2019 normally by using the mounted ISO. Registration for my key worked fine... BUT: Is there any option to NOT install ACCESS? Tried the Deployment Tool but there is no way to deploy the retail version of 2019 (2016 worked fine) for me as far I can tell. No Matter if I refer to download it or refer to the already downloaded ISO on E:\. It just won't start to do anything with this: <Configuration> <Add SourcePath="E:" OfficeClientEdition="64"> < Product ID ="ProPlus2019Retail"> <Language ID="de-de" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Access" /> </Product> </Add> </Configuration> "COULDN'T INSTALL - Do you have internet...?" The Deployment Tool only works with Product ID = 'ProPlus2019Volume" if nothing is installed - but then my key obviously doesn't work. Is there any way for me to get the retail version working without ACCESS? Thanks a lot. :)
Jan Krohn
The configuration file looks good. Have you gone through the documentation yet? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/configuration-options-for-the-office-2016-deployment-tool I've also written an article with instructions (not updated for Office 2019 yet, but maybe helpful nonetheless). https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/79-create-an-office-2013,-2016-and-365-offline-installer-with-the-office-deployment-tool

SnowBall
@Hermanter Sorry that I've been away for a few days, very busy. I am still trying to find a solution to the problem, what I've done so far is that I've downloaded the Office 2019 Volume Edition and I am trying to create a repack of it which will install without problems and can be activated using a volume key. Usually, if you want to use a volume key, you would need a KMS server and I guess you don't have one... Very tedious. P.S Add this line to your to your script: <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" /> and give it a try. @Peter Frommann Sure, if you don't want to install Access, Publisher and Groove, why don't you try this: <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" DownloadPath ="https://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/492350f6-3a01-4f97-b9c0-c7c6ddf67d60"> <Product ID="ProPlusRetail"> <Language ID="de-de" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Access" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" /> </Product> </Add> </Configuration> Regards, SnowBall FreeThinkerMS and Hermanter 1
Peter Frommann
Thanks to all for the replies. My solution was to download a newer Deployment-Tool Version. Now I just had this in my XML: <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" > <Product ID="ProPlus2019Retail"> <Language ID="de-de" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Access" /> <ExcludeApp ID="InfoPath" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" /> <ExcludeApp ID="SharePointDesigner" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Visio" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Skype" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> </Product> </Add> </Configuration> Then I downloaded and installed via CMD as usual. So if you take the correct Product ID it will automatically fall back to the server and find the perfect version. No need to include a source. Very simple. Thanks a lot for all your efforts here. SnowBall
@Peter Frommann Actually, you should download the 32 Bit edition because Microsoft recommend that. If you install the 64 Bit edition. you might get problems with plug-ins. Anyway, glad to see it works. Regards, SnowBall
Peter Frommann
Thanks for the advice. As far as I can tell until now there are no problems. But if, I know why - and then I'll change. For now I leave it on 64. Regards, Peter
Freddie Bernard
Is it just me or is it downloading very slowly?

Jan Krohn
Yes, it's correct. They're all the same size. I suspect they include all the same installation files but different configuration files. (Saves MS a lot of work.)
SnowBall
Microsoft employed a similar technique for Windows ISO images as well.

mbnetscape
Does the initial file download take 2 plus hours? When I click the link for officecdn.microsoft.com/sg/492350f6-3a01-4f97-b9c0-c7c6ddf67d60/media/en-US/ProPlus2019Retail.img, it shows that it will open in 2 hours; making sure this is correct. Should I be doing something different?
SnowBall
What? The whole thing depends on your download speed. It is perfectly fine for it to take 2+ hours since it is a large file.
