[Addon] Internet Explorer 8 ENU True Addon

kontini

Recommended Posts

The english download doesn't seem to be working (although the multi-lingual is). Is this just me?

Thanks for reporting.

my fault, kontini immediately puts the whole place, when it enters

The link is certainly down. Can the poster please choose a reliable hoster.

It's not the Hoster, and has never been ;), they are GB of data and never have problems ;)(lying about the server, or not seen since today is a more reliable and faster in other places), in the latest release I wrong or modify files on servers, kontini will put everything in place soon

Ciao.

Please, don't advice for new updates, especially not-public ones. OnePiece is supposed to monitor all the updates and I think this one won't be included because it would be certainly replaced by next cumulative update. Moreover OnePiece is busy and most of times including this kind of updates is useless ( someone thinks it could be dangerous too).

P.S.

THS guideline: Please do not link directly to the hotfix`s from other websites, links may become dead or out dated so it`s best to link to the homepage: http://thehotfixshare.net/

congratulations for great program! I would like to know why the hotfix still appearance yet on windows update

Thanks. It depends by what you integrated. The ENU addon is fully updated and WU empty, the addonmaker is a bit less updated and localized versions are older so the WU shows the updates.

I remember that you can always integrate the latest IE hotfixes with nLite after our IE8 to shut up WU. I remind you to compare filedates with changelog so you'll know what is inside the addon or which HFs the addon creator supports.

However, the link appears to be down again? I see you had some problems a few days ago.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong but somethings wrong for sure.

Here's what I have done.

1

Created a folder on desktop with following IE8 updates:

IE8-WindowsXP-KB971961-x86-NOR

IE8-WindowsXP-KB972260-x86-NOR

IE8-WindowsXP-KB972636-x86-NOR

IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NOR

2

Extracted RUN_Automatic_AIO_Own_AddOn_Creator_INTL_0.7z to the desktop.

3.

Run RUN_Automatic_AIO_Own_AddOn_Creator_INTL_0.exe and locating IE8 folder on desktop.

4.

Software does it's business and creates the following inside IE8 folder:

Folder called Archive_Files

File called OnePiece_WinXP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_NOR.7z

5.

I then open Nlite and choose the folder were XP installation files is.

I then tick "Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs

6.

In the next window, I choose Insert and I choose OnePiece_WinXP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_NOR.7z

7.

The process is starting and after a while it gives me an error saying the following:

'H-index and length must refer to a location in the string.

Parameter name: Length'

What have I done wrong?

I really must be stupid.

I have also tried the guide here:

BUT, the guide, sorry to say, is a bit "blurry"

I have created a installdisc with critical updates and WMP11

I copied following files to c:\Temp where the sourcefiles for XP is:

IE8-WindowsXP-KB971961-x86-NOR

IE8-WindowsXP-KB972260-x86-NOR

IE8-WindowsXP-KB972636-x86-NOR

IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NOR

Created file called Dxupacfg.ini with the following parameters:

[DXUPACFG]

LANGUAGE=Norwegian

COMMANDLINE=/VERYSILENT /COMPANY=ect ect /SERIAL=XXX-XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

AddOntype=TRUE

PLATFORM=WinXP

ProcArch=x86

AddOnName=IE

IEAddOnVer=8

LANGNAME=Norwegian

LANGType=NOR

LANGLocal=NO

LangIdHex=414

MCDirectory=nb-NO

MCLangIdHex=0414

WUALOCAL=no

UPWSEDIR=1044

UPALCID1=s2414

UPALCID2=s3414

TSUMUILCID=714

UPAUnInstP="Are you sure you want to remove %ProductName% from your computer?"

UPAEUnInstP="%ProductName% was successfully removed from your computer."

UPAXPPDN="Windows XP - Software Updates"

WLMInstallerCode=

WLMPackageCode=

WLLCProductCode=

WLLCInstallerCode=

WLLCPackageCode=

WLLProductCode=

WLLInstallerCode=

WLLPackageCode=

WLRUPackageCode=

Ran the program RUN_Automatic_AIO_Own_AddOn_Creator_INTL_0.exe and located the files inside c:\TempProgram finished, made a new bootable ISO and fired it up.

But still no IE8

Still not getting it. The guide is way to hard to understand. Should have been a step-by-step guide, but totally understand if you guys who can use this tool wont bother writing one.

Anyway, Thanks for your help and patience.

I give up.

Hi Tharon, specifications for each addon pack or update, are in second post, the first post only describes in general

I'm not a programmer or script maker, so he or somewhat difficult to write anything I want them, but hopes are that with time I was able to give it a GUI application, and then later everything will be perfect.

Ciao.

I understand that OnePiece. But, it says "Place in a folder (source folder)" Where sourcefolder is.....? Where you have the XP installationfiles ore just a random folder to store the KB-files?

If there only was a step-by-step guide, but there isn't. Oh well. Hehe I really must be retarded not understanding the nature of the method.....LOL
