Gimpshop is an exceedingly powerful Photoshop lookalike that has far more features than you, or most people you know, will ever use. If you're looking to do something as simple as touch up photos, or something far more sophisticated, like work in multiple layers, it has the tools you need. There are also numerous effects and filters, the ability to easily create color gradients, and plenty more. In fact, if all you want to do is basic photo-retouching, it's probably overkill. But if you want to indulge your inner artist, there's plenty. The program is based on a long-time Open Source favorite, GIMP, but has more fit and polish, and a Photoshop-like identity. 20. Vista/XP Command Prompt Here Opening a command prompt and navigating to a specific folder can be both time consuming and mind numbing at the same time. Vista/XP Command Prompt Here helps to eliminate this process. It also assists with getting around User Account Control limitations within a Vista Workstation. While cruising the forums I found a registry hack that provides "Command Prompt Here" and Administrator "Elevated Command Prompt Here" functionality to folders. I built the registry entries into an installation package so they can be installed and uninstalled via the control panel. To install in Vista, extract then right click the installation file and select run as administrator. If you install it on a Vista Workstation with User Account Control enabled it will act as follows: If you are logged on as an administrator, and right click a folder then select Command Prompt you will be presented with a command window with limited rights in the folder you selected. This means you may not have admin rights to the folder even if you are an administrator of the workstation. If you are logged on as an administrator, and right click a folder then select Elevated Command Prompt you will be presented with a User Account Control (ever after referred to as UAC) continue/abort screen asking for permissions to run "command" with admin rights. Click continue and you will open a command window with full admin rights in the folder you right clicked on. If the user is an administrator of the workstation you will not have to provide additional credentials. If you are logged on as other than administrator of the workstation then you would be prompted for an administrators username and password. If you install it on an XP workstation it will act as follows: If Logged on as an administrator, and you right click any folder and select Command Prompt Here you will Open a Command Window with admin rights in the directory of the folder you right clicked. If you select Elevated Command Prompt you will be prompted with a logon screen. If you type in an administrators UN/PW and have full admin rights at the command window, which you already have. If Logged on as other than administrator, and you right click any folder and select Command Prompt Here you will Open a Command Window with your appropriate rights in that directory of the folder you right clicked. If you select Elevated Command Prompt you will be prompted with a logon screen. If you type in an administrators UN/PW and have full admin rights at the command window. Homepage: Greysville
