    Sorry

We won't even notice if you decide to visit London and enjoy the Olympics too.
  2. Having nothing to do on a Saturday evening I checked Wikipedia and noticed the Win Tookit had nary a mention; see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_remastering_software I'm not familier with updating Wikipedia but it sure is one avenue to tell the world about this fantastic program called Win Toolkit.
  3. A pain in the a** - but acceptable - anything to help pay the bills.
  4. Here too: Version 41 > Downloads > Web Browsers and > Misc - when item clicked browser appeared behind Win Toolkit
  5. Check settings.txt and look for: sSolDownload= I'm pretty sure this is where it is set.
  6. version 1.61 32 and 64 bit released
  7. New - Classic Shell 3.5.1 has an option to bypass Metro during Win8 start - makes things easier.
  8. If he had I did not see it anywhere when I checked the latest version - maybe this will jog his memory (school did keep him busy after all).
  9. Win Toolit 1.4.0.28 > Basic > Getting Started > ISO Maker ISO Maker: Once you have used the All-In-One Integrator you can create an ISO image. Win Tool;kit 1.4.0.28 > Intermediate > USB Boot Prep USB Boot Prep tool: Some users don't like to install from DVD so this tool prepares your USB stick so you can just simply copy-and-paste the Windows disk contents to it and then boot from your USB. Recommendation: Use Windows7-USB-DVD-tool to burn the ISO to a DVD or a flash drive. See http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool My suggestion is, if possible, to incorporate this tool into the Win Toolkit so that after creating the ISO file the Windows7-USB-DVD-tool would be invoked and the user would be presented with an option to easily create a bootable flash drive or DVD.
  10. I guess you should feel good - the system I used is: PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1200 ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 X79 8X DIMM PCIe 3.0 Motherboard Intel Core i7-3960X 3.31 LGA 2011 Processor Intel RTS2011LC Liquid Cooling Solution Kingston KHX2133C11D3K4/16GX (16Gb memory kit) 2 each (Total 32Gb) Sapphire Radeon HD6970 2GB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 X16 video card (two each) connected in CrossfireX Mode Western Digital Cavier Black 2Tb SATA III 6.0GB/S
  11. I created a separate Win7 Pro 32 and 64 bit version by updating with the SoLor updates (over 300 of them) - took over 4 (four) hours each to complete. I had no reason to think it would NOT take a fairly long time. The 64bit version installed just fine and all updates were recognized by Microsoft Update.

Try it and see if you like it. Use it - not yet, most comments indicate it's not ready. A dual/multi-boot setup would be best - for comparison.
  13. Win Toolkit 1.4.0.26 > Main > Basic tab Gettine Started: All-In-One Integrator - explanation in words in box below. ISO Maker - explanation below. WinKit Guides - no explanation Recommended: Update Catalog - No explanation Windows 7 SP1 ISO - explanation below. Actually in the explanation box: All-In-One Integrator - matches icon above. ISO Maker - matches icon above. SoLoR SP1 Updates - no matching icon (did notice that selecting Update Catalog icon SoLoR was then made available - could be confusing.) Windows 7 SP1 ISO - matches icon above. Recommend edit to match icons and word descriptions so they match as to title and purpose; Intermediate tab and Advanced tab icons and descriptions matched.
  14. Latest fron OCZ Technology is the Vertex 4 - SATA III (6GB/s compatible) - Google search will give price and vendors.
  15. I had read somewhere else about Classic Shell and Win8 but, as I mentioned above, with my original C:\> drive now not visible in Win8 and, therefore, all those programs I had hoped to try out 'missing' I'll have to boot into XP or Win7, move all those programs being considerd to a drive/partiton visible from Win8 and try again to check things out. A major pain!!! (At least all this turmoil is happening with my #2 system - #1 is still pure and uncorrupted by Win8.)
  16. Took three attempts, finally got it installed; but not in the location I wanted. Terrible; desktop is crap, no classic - do not want Aero or any theme; had no clue as to how to shutdown or reboot - had to use reset button to get back to XP Pro. I WOULD NOT recommend this 'new' OS to anyone. MY 'original' C:\ drive, as seen from XP and Win7 was no longer visible - Win8 had reset things so it was now on C:\ - could not locate 'original' C:\; which is a real bummer as it has all the downloaded programs for installation on XP, Win7 and/or Win8. Anyone have any ideas as to how I get make a my own desktop.desktop?
  17. Running Win7 Ultimate 64bit w/SP1; all drives NTFS, have 8Gb RAMDRIVE that has \Temp and \Tmp folders. Downloaded latest: WinToolkit140-18.7z Started Win Toolkit > Win Toolkit Options > Misc > Win Toolkit Temp Folder was shown to be H:\WinToolkit (not my selection); assuming this occured because Win7 Ultimate is installed on the H:\ drive. Selected Browse and changed to RAMDRIVE: now shown as Z:\Temp\WinToolkit - would prefer WinToolkit NOT create a subfolder but just use the \Temp folder. Also noticed that Win Toolkit Mount Folder was shown to be D:\WinKit\Mount (not my selection); assuming this selection made by WinToolkit for an unknown reason. Would prefer to use the RAMDRIVE, I.E. Z:\Mount (my assumption here is that using the RAMDRIVE rather than a hard drive would speed things up - memory is faster than a mechanical drive). Apply Settings selected and saved. Win Toolkit closed. Opened Settings.txt: sMountTemp=Z:\Mount and sWinToolkitTemp=Z:\TEMP\WinToolkit. Closed Settings.txt and started Win Toolkit; Options > Misc had the new settings; so that appears to be fine.
  18. Just checked here - Temp folder location is not maintained in Win Toolkit Options > Misc > Win Tookit Temp Folder, Settings.txt also not write protected.
  19. They can all be slipstreamed as selected; select all of them and it will take a while but eventually they will be integrated. When I did it took almost four hours so have something to do while it's happening.
  20. A Google search provides more technical information: http://tweakhound.com/windows7/tweaking/7.html
