    Happy 5th Anniversary!!! Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI for short) is a hypertext application designed for giving users choice. While Windows XP offers many ways of customizing the setup process out of the box, its major drawback is the lack of being able to select which applications an end user may install. In the past, end users and administrators needed to either download the files manually, or create overly complex scripts that could only be used once. WPI allows you to create one image, which can then be custom configured, and optionally, automated, so that end users can install any applications. WPI is a simple to use automation program for the choice and insta…

    As of version 7.5.0, the order of installation is not directed by the leading numbers of each entry (low to high) but rather the order in which they are listed in the config.js (top to bottom). Is this a bug in version 7.5.0 ? Gru

    Announcing! Works GREAT on Windows 2000 and earlier (Targeting 98\ME!) MUST HAVE IE updated to v6 before WPI runs. No there no real instructions yet (see the help page of the website for what there is right now) but allot of you are familiar with WPI and it is a fairly simple program to use. Place the WPI folder at the root of your disk and the scripts to start WPIC (However you choose) need to point to WPIC.exe now. Please visit our forum section and ask away for more advice. PLEASE remember to donate if you really like and use this prog! Yes it will work on the newer operating systems and can be configured on them. Version 2.2 - (November 21st, 2009)Minor adjustments t…

    Hi there, Once again i have a problem using WPI. I try to install a few programs with .cmd files in order to give the right parameters or maybe first copy files from one location to another. Now there is the problem that the .cmd files are all tested, when i double click them everything works allright. when i add the cmd file in wpi and say "install it" it makes a green hook and it seems that everything was correct, but nothing did happen. in case of microsoft office 2007 where i want to add my .msp file via .cmd wpi does start my windows xp setup screen :shocking: has somebody experienced the same problems or has an idea what there might can help? mfg docsnyder edit: l…

    Hi there, I try to use WPI for installing some Apps. I added them in WPI 5.6 with the integrated Wizard. Now when i integrated the WPI in a Windows Image and tried to install the Apps with WPI, WPI installed some and some not. Effectively it are 2 Problems : 1.) When i select only one App (no matter which) then WPI simply shuts down and nothing happens 2.) When i select all Apps then WPI installs all but one categorie. Maybe it has to do with the Categorie? (@problem #2). I first created an own categorie named "Internet" for Apps like Firefox, QuicktimeAlternative and so on. Then WPI had some errors, so i switched all "Internet" Apps to "Utilities" brought by WPI itself…

    I suggest to add a new function inside WPI. Inside wmi.js (from line 348): function getKeyboardLayout(){ position="wmi.js"; whatfunc="getKeyboardLayout()"; try { objWMIService=GetObject("winmgmts:\\\\" + "." + "\\root\\CIMV2"); colItems=objWMIService.ExecQuery("SELECT * FROM Win32_OperatingSystem", "WQL", wbemFlagReturnImmediately | wbemFlagForwardOnly); enumItems=new Enumerator(colItems); objItem=enumItems.item(); KeyboardLayout=objItem.Locale; } catch(ex) { } return KeyboardLayout;} Inside core.js (replace): // %OSLANG% var LCID; CreateLocalArray(); try { objWMIService=GetObject("winmgmts:\\\\…
