Open case has a larger cooler which supposed to be more silent. Also, cooler on the open case can be easily changed, but not on the closed case. Those are the reasons why I've bought open case..

Yeah, forgot to tell you. I am using Corsair HX 650W modular PSU. You can't go wrong with that one.

The new rig is running fine, although I have to say that I haven't noticed improvement over my previous configuration based on Intel Q6600 and 4GB of XMS2 RAM. You can stick with the Dominator as the prices have gone down since I bought my machine, but IMO you would also be satisfied with XMS3 if you want to save a few bucks.

I have the same MBO, CPU and Graphic card. All I can say, go for it! I also bought Corsair, but cheaper XMS3, since I don't plan to overclock.

Hi there, I had the same issue with Windows Vista Ultimate x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I had 4GB of RAM and if my computer was on for the whole day, in the evening hours my memory usage was over 90%. In my situation the problem was in Eset NOD32 Antivirus x64. When I've uninstalled NOD32 Antivirus, my issues were gone. I see that you are using Avast antivirus. Try to uninstall Avast, just for a test and see what happens. I would also try to uninstall TuneUp utilities. If neither helps, try to use 'msconfig' to disable all non-Microsoft startup items and services and see if the problem persists.

Hello zookey, Move the visio.msp to another folder. I have setup Office the same way, and have seperate installs for Publisher, Visio etc, the difference is that the msp's are in different folders, not the updates folder. My understanding of the Updates folder is that setup applies "all" msp's (alphabetically) in that folder. \\path to media\setup.exe /adminfile \\path to media\clientname\MSPublisher07.MSP /config \\path to media\Publisher.WW\config.xml I found I had to specify the config file, although there is almost nothing in it. Thanks! Since I have cleaned the fans now, I should wait for the next round of oil leakage BTW, there is no growling sound, but the chassis seems a bit louder than the first time I was using it. Thanks for the links, but if I replace this default fans, I won't be able to use the speed meter at the back of the case.
