  1. yeah that 8800gt will beat anything new that you could find for $50
  2. trust me, the 9800gtx and the 4850 is MASSIVE overkill for your 17in lcd monitor. 4670 would beat the 9500 gt see if you can find a used ati 3850 or 3870. might be able to find one around $50 now and i bet would be plenty
  3. yeah i agree with all above. kind of reminds me of those 'earn a free playstation 3' gimmicks too. basically you had to subscribe to some crappy stuff and refer friends and get them to subscribe to some crappy stuff, to earn points. but in order to get enough points you basically had to get like 20 people to subscribe or you would not have enough to get the playstation
  4. i'm a little busy currently, but maybe i can do some rough mockup for my idea in the next few days

lol you guy's idea of small is kind of funny. i think its a huge monster but then again my primary rig is a shuttle sff system
  6. actually it looks like it depends on the model. this small list shows some from the same mfr. have 3 and some have 5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150014%204808&page=1&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True while this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152119 beats them all with a 7yr warranty

some companies make all-in-one type of water cooling setups http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2485 http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/corsair_h50_hydro_series_cpu_liquid_water_cooling_system_review/index2.php they are cheaper than if you buy individual parts yourself, but still kind of expensive compared to air coolers
  8. i'd pick the one that gave the longest warranty. it might have changed, but seagate had a 5yr warranty on their hard drives. i don't know about the other companies

antec makes good products. so does lian-li have you considered a water cooling setup?

don't like it b/c of major dust issues. those are more for component testing purposes, not long term builds
  11. i had some ideas but would involve more than just one screen. probably too much work involved though b/c probably would have to make a whole new gui for it
  12. i think the link you gave is bad. this one is better http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=17287
  13. looks unusual. this is more of my taste though g500 probably going to replace my old mx518 soon
  14. lol well i don't exactly know either. but try asking this guy http://thekustomizer.deviantart.com/ he is the one who has the virtualplastic website i linked above if anyone would know, he probably would
  15. try these two sites. http://des.virtualplastic.net/index.html http://www.jools.net/resources/logon-uifile-secrets/ you might find some useful information there
  16. i must have missed that one. i'm always on d.a. looking for new visual styles i just found this one too http://djabytown.deviantart.com/art/Dark-Agility-Visual-Style-148691785 which looks amazing!
  17. whats the name of that visual style? or where did you get it
  18. maybe some of these tools will work for you http://hddguru.com/content/en/software/
  19. any progress from this? i'd love to be able to have an addon + definitions. even if they will eventually become obsolete, i think the subsequent definition updates would not be as large as the first download.
  20. its an evaluation version that expires october 2010 http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/download-office-professional-plus/default.aspx
  21. looks like you need an agp video card, but i would not spend a whole lot of money on it. from your picture it looks like your card is a 3.3v one http://www.playtool.com/pages/vidslots/voltageslots.jpg i forget if the 1.5v cards are compatible with 3.3v motherboards
  22. back up http://www.winxdvd.com/giveaway/ edit: oops. it looks like its a decrypter this time
  23. the first 3 pictures are useless and have nothing to do with connecting a monitor. you need a video card with a vga port which the one in the picture has, but it looks very ancient
  24. another site gives it 89% detection rate. tied neck and neck with avira http://mtc.sri.com/live_data/av_rankings/ there is something called Ikarus, which even scored higher.. but i've never heard of it before
