Intel to launch Beast Canyon, a small form factor gaming rig
Back at CES that was held in January 2020, Intel has introduced its NUC (Next Unit of Computing), a 5L barebone modular gaming PC named Ghost Canyon, with a slot for a discrete small form factor graphics card.
Today at Computex 2021 Intel has announced Ghost Canyon successor, an 8L Intel NUC 11 Extreme kit, known as the Beast Canyon. Sized as a PCIe card and powered by H-class mobile processor, RAM, and storage the Beast Canyon has room to accommodate graphic cards up to 12 inches in length!
The back of the NUC 11 case offers 6 high-speed Type-A USB ports, HDMI, and one Ethernet port. It will also come in Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processor variants rated at up to a 65W TDP.
With the larger size than its predecessor, Beast Canyon plans to compete with other small form factor PCs on the market. Intel has promised to provide more details on its new minimalistic gaming rig soon.
