Microsoft released final version (RTW) of "Security Essentials," which is an Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware software for "latest" Windows operating systems.
I said "latest", because it is only available for:
Windows XP x86
Windows Vista x86 and x64
Windows 7 x86 and x64
Installation was very simple and fast. Once you download MSE from this LINK and run installer, a windows pops out with useful information on what MSE really is.

On the second screen you're prompted to validate your copy of Windows. For those of you who are not using genuine versions of Window, installation will fail. Process of validation is very fast and it's finished in a second.


Once your copy of Windows is validated you may proceed with installation of Microsoft Security Essentials. Installation shouldn't take long.



Once installation completes and you run the MSE for the first time, MSE will update virus definitions and will make initial quick scan of your PC.



User interface can't be simpler. To perform a System Scan, you can choose one of the three options, Quick, Full, or Custom (familiar?). First, although quick scan already ran on the initial application startup, I tried to performed a quick scan again to see the speed of it. The Quick scan was very quick on my system. Scan completed on 87948 items in less than 2 minutes, pretty impressive if you ask me.

I won't run the full system scan as it would probably take longer to complete as this process scans all of your disks/partitions/files. As for the custom scan, you have an option to choose the drive or destination which you want to scan.
Update tab is has only once button to click, guess which. UPDATE!, although MSE should be updated automatically. History tab will shows you All of the detected items, Quarantined items or Allowed items, depends on your selection.

Settings tab has all other options that you might need to configure Microsoft Security Essentials, although once you install it, you don't have to touch it, as it will do the job properly.
If you still wan't to configure MSE other than default, here's what you can change/configure:
Scheduled scan - Here you can select/deselect a scheduled scan of your computer, configure time and type of the scan with two additional options (Check for the latest virus & spyware definitions before running a scheduled scan and Start the scheduled scan only when my computer is on but not in use, although MSE is running in low priority so you shouldn't notice any performance downgrades during the scan.
Default Actions - Here you can choose how will MSE react in various situations/alert levels.
Real-time protection - Real-time protection alerts you when viruses, spyware, or other potentially unwanted software attempts to install itself or run on your computer. You can select if you want to monitor file and program activity on your computer and if you want to scan all downloaded files and attachments.
Excluded files & locations, Excluded file types and Excluded processes - Here you can choose which files, locations, file types or processes would you like to remove from scanning. Useful, if you want to perform faster full scan of your computer.
Advanced - Advanced tab gives you the option to scan archive files like .zip or .cab files. You can also choose if you want to scan removable drivers, which isn't enabled by default, but I highly recommend it. You can create a system restore point prior cleaning your computer and give permission to all other users on your PC to view items in the History tab.
Microsoft SpyNet - Microsoft SpyNet program is an online community which helps stop the spread of new malicious software infections. You can choose Basic membership (default) or Advanced membership which will send more info to Microsoft about malicious software on your computer, like how the software operates, and how it has impacted your computer.
Conclusion:
This is the first antivirus application from Microsoft with integrated Anti-Spyware protection. So far I’m really impressed with MSE, because it's small ( setup just under 5MB), fast, stays out of your way and doesn’t hog your resources.
Update: Confirmed, MSE won't work if you have 'Checkpoint' software installed on Windows Vista x86. Expect freezes, bad performance etc.

Some of you might Google before you find out that Microsoft made a tutorial on how to customize a Windows 7 theme. For that purpose I will post that tutorial for your information.
You can change individual parts of a theme (the pictures, colors, and sounds), and then save the revised theme for your own use or to share with other people.
To change parts of a theme
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
Click the theme that you want to change to apply it to your desktop.
Do one or more of the following:
To change the background, click Desktop Background, select the check box for the image that you want to use, and then click Save changes.
To change the color of window borders, click Window Color, click the color that you want to use, adjust the intensity, and then click Save changes.
To change the sounds for the theme, click Sounds, click an item in the Sound Schemes list, and then click OK.
To add or change a screen saver, click Screen Saver, click an item in the Screen saver list, change any settings that you want to change, and then click OK.
Your revised theme will appear under My Themes as an unsaved theme.
To save a revised theme for your use only
To save your revised theme to use on your computer, follow these steps:
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
Click your revised theme to apply it to the desktop.
Click Save theme.
Type a name for your theme, and then click Save.
The theme will appear under My Themes. Note that themes saved this way can't be shared with other people.
To save a revised theme to share with friends and family.
To share a revised theme, follow the steps below. You can share your theme using e‑mail, a network, or an external hard disk.
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
Click your revised theme to apply it to the desktop.
Right-click the theme, and then click Save theme for sharing.
In the File name box, type a name for your theme, and then click Save.
By default, Windows saves the theme in your My Documents folder.

I am glad to release the 2nd version of 7zip ultimate. Default icon of 7zip is very old for current os so i decided to redesign 7zip. I have tried to eliminate all the error that were seen in previous version. Most of images(about,sfx) & icons(file type,7zip sfx) are designed by me except Toolbar icons and 7zip program icon.

Here's how to do it manually
Its is always nice to know how things work behind the scenes, what better way to do so then try them out yourself. To change the logon screen manually follow these steps:
Run the registry editor (Win Key + R and then type regedit, press enter)
Navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background , double click on key named OEMBackground and change its value to 1 (If you cannot find the path or the key go ahead and create it, remember OEMBackground is a Dword)

You just enabled the OEM Background functionality. Now browse to the folder %windir%\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds within Windows explorer. %windir% refers to your Windows install directory C:\Windows in most systems. Again the folder path may not exist already, so you can go ahead and create required folders (info and backgrounds are generally not present)

Now put in any JPG file with size less than 256 kb in this folder and rename it to backgroundDefault.jpg. This file will be stretched to fit the screen, so you would want it to match the resolution of your screen so that image doesn

A differenza di AutoPatcher che esegue gli aggiornamenti su un sistema già installato, questo pack serve a creare un CD di Windows XP SP4 completo, che non contiene però nessun tipo di tweak o miglioramento. Il vantaggio principale rispetto ad AutoPatcher è che se viene installato Windows da un CD che abbia il OnePiece Pack integrato dopo non è necessaria l'esecuzione di AP, perché i file che si vanno ad aggiornare con le patch sono già aggiornati.

Attenzione: non applicare su precedenti Update Pack o AddOn, Ragazzi sia per quelli che usino nLite sia per quelli che usino RVMi, metterlo il pack da solo integrarlo, e dopo integrare o fare altri operazioni in quello cd, metterlo il pack inseme ai altri cose ce il rischio di sforzare tropo le applicazione come nLite e RVMi, e dopo che il rischio che forse anche sbagliano in qualche cosa, cosi il consiglio e sempre essere prudenti e metterli le cose in cd uno a uno, cosi siete sicuri 1000% che tutto andrà ok

Ragazzi e tutto ok 10000% usare sia nLite sia RVMi per integrare Update Pack, io preferisco raccomandare sempre RVMi, perché RVMi non tocca mai nessun altro file in cd, cosi Integrazione non fallisce (o non fa uscire mai problemi ect ect) mai ect ect, cosi mi tocca rispondere piu meno ai segnalazioni che fanno tutti utenti al riguardo, come detto nLite e ok 10000%, milioni e milioni di utenti lo hanno usato per anni e anni e la usano ancora oggi ehhhhh (nLite va come un treno ), ma nLite a abitudine toccare a volte anche altri file che non hanno che fare con il Update Pack o il AddOn che stai integrando di più a moltissime opzioni, cosi utenti che non hanno molta esperienza al riguardo (eseguendo molte cose in nLite, oppure usando il nLite in extremis, oppure usando nLite in modo sbagliato) potranno danneggiare Windows XP Setup Files (che sono dentro il CD), e dopo non risecano capire dove hanno sbagliato ect ect dopo segnalano come problematico Update Pack o il AddOn ect ect, appunto per evitare questo io consiglio che e meglio usare RVMi per integrare Update Pack, testare se e tutto ok ect ect, e dopo chi vole fare altro andare avanti con nLite ect ect

Time for a new Tutorial. At first there are new versions of all the stuff that's needed. Secondly are there much improvements and is there an easier way to make a 7-Zip Installer now. Third: I think most people don't know this all.
Tutorial:
1. Download the right 7zSD (always linked to latest version). Extract and place the 7zsd.sfx in a new folder.
2. Go to here and download the 7za***.zip (where *** is the version number) from the latest 7-Zip command line version. Extract and place only the 7za.exe in the same folder as 7zSD.
3. Download UPX here. Extract and place only the upx.exe in the folder where 7zSD and 7za are placed.
4. Make a subdirectory with the name Bin and copy all installation files to.
5. If you want, you can change the icon of the installer by replacing the icon in 7zsd.sfx using ResHacker as described here.
6. You can also change the version info of the executable using ResHacker. Go to the folder Version Info in ResHacker by opening 7zsd.sfx and rename the values of "CompanyName" and "FileDescription".
7. Create a Config.txt in the same folder as 7zSD, 7za and UPX.
Open it and set:
Replace program.exe with the name of your installer (including the extension). Replace -switch with the desired switch(es) to be used. Many switches of different programs can be found here.
For a full silent 7-Zip install you add:
It's not needed any more to add StartX.exe, msistub.exe or other supplementary tools. Then "waiting" is enabled by default for 'RunProgram=', unless 'nowait:' parameter is used. Also reg-files aren't needed any more. They can be configured in the Config.txt.
For a Register Entry (If you use a lot of Register Entries it's smart to use the parameter SetEnvironment to save time):
Keep this in mind: you MUST use DOUBLE backslashes (\\) wherever you normally use backslashes (\) (e.g. in paths or dialog texts). Similarly, if the Value contains double quotes ("), you MUST precede them with a backslash (\").
Now, your Config.txt looks like this:
You can add, edit and remove lines if you want.

8. Save Config.txt with UTF-8 encoding by selecting "UTF-8" from the dropdown menu in the "Save As..." dialog in Notepad.
9. Make a Create.cmd in the same folder as the Config.txt and past the following:

cd Bin
..\7za a -mx=9 "..\Program.7z" *
cd ..
copy /b 7zsd.sfx + Config.txt + Program.7z Program_Name.exe
del Program.7z
10. Rename Program_Name to your own program name and run your Create.cmd.
11. Congratulations: you have guaranteed the littlest 7-Zip Installer as possible.
