  1. Strange, i didnt have the modified bootscreen from the beginning, it may be a mistake that its on the first page, but better ask ricktendo64 about this. AFAIK, this only patches the resources, and the bootscreen is part of some of the kernel exe files (i dont remember which) that needs patched to get another bootscreen. Also you need to disable system file checking to successfully change the bootscreen, at least mine didn't work before applying the SFC_OS 1.3f patch. You could try use the beforementioned bootscreen with the patch to see if it works for you: Forum link: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2274 File link to SFC_OS: http://zacam.ueuo.com/rvm/PatchAddon_SFC_OS_v13f.7z
  2. You should apply this addon to get the Vista Bootscreen (in case of SP2): Topic link: http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=804 Link to file: http://www.sokoolz.com/addons/r64/Ricks_Vi...940322_AddOn.7z Credit goes to ricktendo64 of course for the great addon. Note: if you are using some of the beta or RC SP3 builds, each have their own respective addons, this one won't work.
  3. I know its nothing big, i just noticed, you didn't update the date of the newest release after the download button in the first post. To amnesia: The resources are far the best i have seen, keep up the good work and thank your very much! :giveheart: Also thanks again for Rick for this great project :thumbsup_anim:
  4. Thanks for the reupload and new resources, download works now. Gonna try the new ones with b7.2 and report back later.
  5. Strange, for some reasons the other two "updates" winbrand.dll.res and user32.dll.res can be downloaded but this one (the extra MSCs) just doesnt start downloading after the begind download button. Could you please look after it ?
  6. Hi Ricktendo64! I have noticed that after you began including the modified .msc files in the recent betas, the console files don't work anymore with the default system files in windows xp sp2 (it has MMC 2.0). I first suspected that i need to install IE7 or WMP11 update, but then i narrowed down the problem to the MMC version in my installation. I used xable's 2008 january update pack, because there's still no stable version of the new ryanvm updatepacks. After downloading and updating manually the MMC in windows xp to 3.0 all .msc files began to work like they should (they simply wouldnt be opened before). Is there a way to make the .msc files compatible with the old MMC 2.0 or the modifications in V'ISO need the 3.0 version type files to work?
  7. I had the time to make a new integrated install, works perfectly, TYVM! :thumbsup_anim:
  8. V'ISO is getting better every day, i don't think the final is too far, imho it's almost perfect for a 1.0 release :thumbsup_anim: :icon_cool:
  9. Here's my report: I've done the test with VISO beta 7, RVM integrated my usual addons and then last integrated VISO, not using any nlite for now. - The Fast User Switching problem is gone! Note: I will make one install using nlite too, because either something is fixed in VISO beta7 that was not in beta6, or nlite is not working correctly with all settings with XP SP3 RC1 sources - also Eventviewer icons work well to (as already note in the newest beta changelog) - The "alternative themes" don't get cut off at start button, all is well!!!
  10. Is this a "redirect" theme that points to the Luna Element 5.1 (when integrated), or i don't understand something clearly, because the attachment is only 1,68 Kilobytes in size... ?
  11. I have the default Guest (disabled), Administrator, and "user" user So that makes normally 1 user in total, because Admin is hidden on default when there is a welcome screen, and since .NET is not installed, it hasn't created a user also. I think i first create a new updated source with the beta 7 and then report back with the results, maybe the error is magically gone Hmm... i'm tired, i continue tomorrow, i worked my a$$ off for today...
  12. Wohoo! Thank ya very much! I prefer the blue one... with the compact style. Will test it out tonight if its ready!
  13. ROTFLOL! :worthy: :thumbsup_anim:
  14. LOL, am i a lazy one. I just did the easiest thing, updated the els.dll.res in the VISO Beta 6.exe ('cause i know its a simple winrar SFX) and i checked the batch file and it doesn't contain any file size or CRC checking The modified viso installer went through without errors. Integrated install went fine without errors. The "new" event viewer also looks veeery goood :thumbsup_anim: (see attached pic) :g: LogonType is already set to "1"... so i'm going to troubleshoot nlite settings again i think... (no ctrl+alt+del logon is not checked in nlite, i double checked, but still... no fast user switching).
  15. Thanks for reply, will post back with results. What resource editor do you prefer for changing it? (dl link if available or PM me pls).
  16. I have received and downloaded it, thanks. Integrated it with RVM Integrator 1.5RC1, no errors/warnings. Install went flawlessly, and its relieving to see the blue colored task mananer, it just simply blue and looks fantastic, even the system tray icon is blue! For those who want to see it in action, here it is: Screenshot of XP SP3 RC1 build3264 with blue Task Manager (addon made by hngovr1/tum0r)
  17. Yay! :thumbsup_anim: I'm willing to test the blue taskman @ SP3 RC1 b3264. If you don't want to post the link publicly send me a PM please! Thanks in advance! PS: I use RVM integrator most of the time, it somehow produces more "clean" installation source as nlite (at least for all test i made), i only use nlite for component/service-removal and some unattended options (and to set default desktop theme other than windows defaults).
  18. Another solution is to use ***Removed warez talk ***(which is a bootable disc of very useful utilities for system administrators) and use the utility named "Active Password Changer". It can clear disabled, locked out users, and also administrator passwords. (No public downloads, because that disc contains non-freeware progs too..., search on known torrent sites if you need it) Warning! Never clear a user's password with such utilities who are known to have encrypted folders (EFS - see EFS@Wikipedia), because the encrypted data will be unaccessible after password clearing.
  19. This one worked for me only after using the latest (v1.3f) SFC_OS patch with XP x86 SP3 RC1 b3264. Works flawlessly! Thanks for the add-on! For those with SP3 RC1 b3264, use this patch with RVM integrator for this bootscreen to work properly (Posted by Zacam on RyanVM forums): http://zacam.ueuo.com/rvm/PatchAddon_SFC_OS_v13f.7z (Original post link: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2274)
  20. I like JD's bear with the sword :thumbsup_anim:

    Hi all!

Well, i'm in for bug reporting, other than that i cannot promise much due to me working in most of my "free" time (when i'm not at my workplace) also, but i'll try be an active member as my time allows. I already wrote into some threads. Also i'm always-in for some beta testing... Thx 4 welcome!

    Hi all!

Hi all! I'm from Hungary, Budapest. I have some little programming skills from the very old days (Turbo Pascal, Borland Delphi), working daily with computers (hardware and software, troubleshooting new and old machine probs etc., selling hw in a computer store) and in my spare time i try to create an up-to-date customized installation from great addons and updates posted here and also at ryanvm and similar forums Looking forward to being a helpful member here... :thumbsup_anim: :sweatingbullets:
  24. It's also about space i think, i agree with you partially. So then i would suggest keeping the default background picture and replacing all other non-default (selectable) wallpapers with the vista ones for example, i think that would make sense. I think i have seen some very good Bliss remake graphics that look much better than the original, then it would make sense to replace that as well, or am i wrong? For example in case of fonts, of course the old fonts must be kept for compatibility reasons and the updated ones from vista are added, that i do understand. I am not into making addons/scripting, mostly because i don't have much time to do so, but if you point me to a walkthrough of some technical details how to do it myself, i could give it a try. Thanks!
  25. I'm having the same problem after using V'ISO Beta6, i'm using Luna Element 5.1 with latest UXTheme and SFC_OS patch (v1.3f), but the start menu icon's right rounded side is simply cut off. If i simply integrate the theme with RVM Integrator and don't patch up with V'ISO everything is looking fine. I also noticed that - for me at least - fast user switching does not work after applying V'ISO, only the server-style "specify login name and password" prompt comes up, still fast-user switching is enabled in the control panel... I'm using the beta XP SP3 RC1 build 3264. Am i making something wrong? Icon-bug: I also found a very little graphical glitch. If i open computer management and use event viewer, the event categories (Application, IE, Security, System) do have good default icons, but when you open any of 'em the "opened" icon state shows the old resource icon, when you open another category for example System log after Security log, the "unopened" icon displays the correct new graphics, so it could be fixed by using the same icon for opened and closed state for a quick fix... see attached pic.
