    Hi mooms, hi Liam,   nice to see you again, I hope you are well! I'm still using WinToolkit for Win 10 & Win 11.

  • Hi Lego, glad to see you're still around. I don't use WTK anymore but it was useful in the Win7 days. Thanks.

  • And now 1.7.10 is out. Thank you Unantastbar.

where is the link to download 1.7.10 mooms.Thanks in advance.Great news!

First post in this thread, on the bottom 😁!

@Thiersee & @Unantastbar

In WTK 1.0.11 I'm getting an error when I keep WIM Images mounted to extract winre.wim from System32/recovery and update it with latest updates. The error is something like this "You need to use WTK 2.x and above to use this feature".

I can't keep the WIM Images mounted too for DISM Servicing! After getting the error msg like above. I re-mount the same wim file and then choose Discard to prevent that error. Even the unique filename for Wintoolkit_xx folder in C or any drive uses older reference which conflicts the entire process.

I think file handler is getting cleaned for mounted images if we choose Keep Images mounted!

I'm using Win 10 v1809.

I'm not seeing anything in logs.

Tried 1.7.0.13 with Windows 7 x64 and latest UL: WTK RunOnce installer did not launch. Tried two times.

1.7.0.8 works.

I can confirm it!

I wanted to archive all my Win7 stuff and I had to use version 1.7.0.8.

That's worked. Thanks.

So what was the issue? Was it a bug? Thankfully it didn't break my custom 1809 Image and Image is working fine.

All good!

@mooms

Sry, my mistake

Hi mooms,

I think the issue is the OS you are using to build an ISO for Win7!

Try now with the realeased version 1.7.0.14, I didn't test it yet.

Have a nice weekend.

I'm trying to integrate abbodi's visual c++ and directx addons into a windows 8.1 install.wim.
"Access denied" makes me think "permissions", but even after I take full ownership of C:\ and subfolders, the problem persists. I've tried setting Mount and Temp folders on drive D:\ (yes, drive, not just partition, it's a separate drive), still same problem.

I've never experienced this before. All I've done is perform a clean install of Windows 10 on my SSD(I had to).
