Microsoft to deprecate People, Windows To Go and Snipping tool apps in the next version of Windows
Almost a year has passed since Microsoft announced its plan to shut down the People app from Windows 10. Today, the People app has been listed on the Windows 10 deprecated features list and will probably be removed in the next major release, while it is still available within the Windows 10 v1909 or November 2019 Update.
was introduced with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and it was more like a burden to Win10 OS just sitting there without being used. It provided quick access to three Skype or email contacts with just one click on the taskbar. Additionally, these three favorite friends could send you a quick emojis which then popped up on your screen.
Windows To Go is yet another app that is no longer being developed and could be removed in the next major Windows 10 release. This app requires a specific type of USB drives that are no longer supported by many OEM’s.
Snipping Tool, an application used to capture and edit screenshots has also found its way to Windows 10 deprecated apps list. Luckily, Snipping Tool is being consolidated and will be replaced with universal app Snip & Sketch which provides the same screen clipping abilities but also brings additional features.
