Windows 10 Tuesday update will remove legacy Edge browser
Microsoft has just announced that its old Edge browser is planned to be removed from Windows 10 on April 13 with the Tuesday update. Legacy Microsoft Edge browser will be replaced with the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge.
Official support for the old Edge browser will end on March 9 2021 and after that date, it will no longer receive security updates.
Here is the list of Windows 10 versions impacted by this update:
Windows 10, version 1803, all editions (April 2018 update)
Windows 10, version 1809, all editions (October 2018 update)
Windows 10, version 1903, all editions (May 2019 update)
Windows 10, version 1909, all editions (October 2019 update)
Windows 10, version 2004, all editions (May 2020 update)
Since Windows 10 version 20H2 comes with a pre-installed Chromium-Edge browser this update will only remove the legacy Edge browser.
