Windows 11 to come with a dark mode by default
During Microsoft’s Inspire conference held last week, Microsoft’s Melissa Grant said that all Windows 11 commercial SKUs will be shipped with a dark mode as default. The reason for this change lies in the fact that we’re spending so much more time staring at bright screens that cause strain on people’s eyes.
Windows 11 dark mode can already be tested by running the latest preview build released to Windows Insiders. Some elements from Windows 10 dark mode were additionally swapped to darker colors that are much easier on the eyes, especially for users that are spending a lot of time staring at the screen.
Because of its popularity, the dark mode has already been rolled out for several Microsoft apps like Microsoft Office and the new Edge browser including most of their mobile apps.
