Unhide Administrator account on Windows 7
If you would like to unhide the hidden Administrator account on Windows 7 Operating System here’s how you can do it:
1.Boot Win 7 DVD, go to command prompt and type regedit and open the registry editor.
2.Click on HKLM hive and next navigate to:
File>>Load hive
Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config folder and choose SOFTWARE file
Load it and assign this hive any name for example REM_SOFTWARE.
3.Open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
and remove this account or better way remove the whole key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts
You’re done!
You should be able to see the Administrator account now.
Comments are welcome!

Why would you do that? 🙂 If so, I wouldn’t know how to help you 🙂
Dear Sir,
I have done this mistake. I have hidden administrator by mistake and now can’t bring it back, however I have followed your instruction but it didn’t help.
Would you please help me to bring administrator account back?
Best,
Haroon
Tell me exactly what you did?
What is the problem, after you have followed steps above, your Admin account is still hidden/locked?
Wow.. you just saved my stupid ass!
Tho you should also mention to “Unload Hive…”,
else the changes aren’t kept on disc 😉
@ Harsh Khandelwal
have no doubt
You have either orig disk or admin rights to create the repair disk so it works.
@ someone
I didn’t have to unload hive, it worked without that.
I just changed setting to 1 from 0 (decimal)
I am stuck in step 2 :
Since i dont have admin rights, i was unable to open config file as u suggested.
i get UAC prompt with diabled ‘YES’ button. I could not continue from here
https://www.google.co.in/search?q=yes+button+disabled&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiJ5_GnpvjNAhVEro8KHQxADacQ_AUICCgB&biw=1024&bih=657#imgrc=veSV1awx_Qd4BM%3A
PLease help me!!
Do you get UAC prompt to enter admin credentials or not?
If you don’t have administrator password I’m not sure that you’ll be able to achieve this.
Yes, I get UAC control but with disabled YES button
Do you get a password prompt?
