Hi all! I'm choosing the components to remove from my cd (Win XP Pro) and in the services section there are 3 which I don't know whether taking out. First, a red component, HTTP SSL: considering that I'm not going to use Internet Explorer, is it safe to remove it even if I use SSL for e-mail or other services? Second, another red component, SNMP: there is a generic reference to printer support and agents that monitor the activity in network devices and report to the network console workstation. Hi all! I've seen that many people remove Out of Box Experience in a slim copy of Win XP and I would like to do the same without running into issues. I have XP Pro and Home with activation codes (underneath the laptops). If I insert them in the specific nLite section ("General" tab in "Unattended" section), will I still need to activate Windows? I know this item is needed for activation and, if I'm not wrong, for other settings included in the "Unattended" section. Should I set some particular options (like "Unattended mode", "Skip OOBE" or whatever...)? Thanks for your tips!

I have Vista on my Sony VAIO VGN-NR310E, but I wanna use XP. The original OS of my laptop is Vista, and since then I've been going back and forth between Vista and XP OS. And now I end up using Vista. But this time when I slip the XP CD in, it doesn't work. The CD is fine. I tried booting from the CD itself but it gives me a message: "Setup cannot detect.." So, I do some research and I found out about nLite. I followed a very thorough walkthrough, but still nothing. Thanks.

I tested my disk before adding tweaks section of nLite. Offline Files is disabled by default. When I add tweaks, is is enabled. Offline Files when enabled disables Fast user switching. I asked this question at MSFN and got no response. I will post my last session. I know beyond all doubt it is an nLite tweak. I have tried making Fast user switching automatic in nLite but it didn't work. It is very important to me to have Offline files off, therefore Fast User switch will be on.

when I put my addons and sp3 with nlite when finish setup windows no addons in the windows nothing what is the problem????? is that in nlite or in addons?

First: ill talk about the theme i add it in the unattended section and when i install xp its classic and not custom. i removed the windows theme in components Second: I have made a bootscreen in an app callec bootskin and i dont know how its working because i took my ntoskrnl.exe and installed it properly and its just the original boot. And tuneup is stupid because you cant change the load bar graphic control the length or even the location. any help about thease topics would be greatly apreshiated. thank you

i've used nlite to make unattended xp, everything is working fine. i'm trying to assign a password to users through user accounts which is also accepting it. but when i m restarting the computer, xp is loading without asking for any password or user selection. any solutions pls.

can someone help me? i made windows with nLite + addons etc... when i install that windows on computer he work excelent but my autorun cd is disabled or what... :S autoplay option doesn't work... what can be the problem....? is someone have this bug too? sry for my bad english... tnx....

Hey, Just complaining.. sigh.. Sometimes Windows file and print sharing works fine in my unattended setup and sometimes not, I am getting the famous WORKGROUP is not accessible. I have a lot of stuff ripped out using nLite and I changed a few things since last time but all should be fine for sharing, so many things on the net and none of them are working. I'm just mad, should be able to figure it out somehow,if anyone cares to add anything that could help please do.

Hi. It's an old bug I have since the first days I started using nLite, but now that I'm on the final stages of my "perfect" XP CD installation project, I would like to solve it once and for all. There's a shortcut on the desktop that leads nowhere, because the original destination was moved or deleted, and when I try to delete that shortcut, explorer crashes, simply as that.
