Windows 7

Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System discussions.

    Started by Guest snakecracker,

Windows 7 owners are having problems installing their new operating system, especially over Vista, according to comments on Microsoft's support site. Many find their installation goes into infinite reboot after 62% of the installation is complete. Switching off and rebooting doesn't help either because the system no longer recognises the older operating system. Microsoft says the problem occurs because the Iphlpsvc service stops responding during the upgrade. But others may also be to blame. One user who followed Microsoft's fix said it took 48 hours to get a working installation, with installation runs taking 10 hours a time. Even then he had to delete his wireless card …

  3. You can get it from here. Remeber it's NOT a final version (a post-beta / RC version)! I installed it on top of a Win Toolkit processed image, with IE9 preinstalled, and everything seems fine. Seems faster than IE9, and also it doesn't have flash included as the windows 8 version.

I know this isn't a ToolKit problem but it's the second time it happened to me and i am wondering if anyone else had had this: After I finish my installation and some other manual changes to the OS I do a final reboot and the system won't recognize my password... and I can't login at all. The hint is correct which seems to imply the keyboard was typing properly but I definitely can't login in so I have to re-install.

I added Autounattend.xml file to my Windows 7 AIO OEM (Pre activated) disk. It works fine. Recently I addedSETUPCOMPLETE.CMD file ( by $OEM$ folder) to this disk for some silent install software. It also works fine. But it makes my Windows trial for 30 days. I tried many ways but couldn't find solution. My software in SETUPCOMPLETE.CMD file: 7zip, Winrar, vlc, Foxit_Reader, dopdf, Firefox, K-Lite_Codec_Pack, KMPlayer, PowerDVD_Ultra_10, revosetup, Auslogics Disk Defrag, Wise Registry Cleaner, GoogleChrome.

  13. Hello forum , i have a very strange problem with my AIO Disk with windows 7. I have both x64 and x86 versions of windows 7 in one DVD and i want to automate the installation process , so i created an unattend.xml file and it works for the x86 versions. The problem is with the x64 versions. It keeps asking what OS to install. This is my answer file which is NOT working <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><!--This answer file generated by RT Seven Lite--><unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <settings pass="windowsPE"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35…

I have the windows 7 rc1 64bit. Every time my comp sleeps or is shutdown, upon restarting, it freezes after a few minutes and i get a blue error screen. I've fixed the sleep problem by reconfiguring my power saving options. But my pc still freezes upon powering back on after a legit shutdown. Once I've rebooted after the error screen, my pc is fine and will never freeze until shutdown again. Any solutions out there? Austin

  16. hello everyone, i've encountered this problem first, when I defrag my pc, second, after i used windows updates.. After i've restart the computer, there's no animated bootscreen that appeared and it stays as a blank screen(black screen maybe).. there's no option like safe mode, restore to last known good configuration etc... after my bios checked for my devices, there it goes.. a Blank screen.. I tried using startup repair but it doesn't fix, even bootsec /fixmbr and /fixboot doesn't fix it? is it a virus? or a corrupt files?
