yogurt
I for one would appreciate a one off 1.4.1. Count me all-in.

scifimike12
There seems to be a bug with McRip's Windows 7 & 8 update list. With the previous version 140-77, it sorted them in the correct folders. But with the newest version 141-1, it marks everything in /additional as "old" and put it in that folder. Legolash2o
Working fine for me, may need more detail.
scifimike12
This is with all of the updates sorted correctly in their folders: Then after I check with version 141-1: It puts these files in the old folder: Same thing happens with Windows 8 updates. If I go back to 140-77 it will sort the files in the old folder back to where they were suppose to be.
ianymaty
That is correct. It was requested to leave only the .msu files in the update folder so all other files will be moved to old. Anyway some files aren't updates or not directly integratable as are the .msu files so why bother with them.
compstuff
Because as stated earlier in this thread many of us still want to be able to easily download the file and then manage the installation process ourselves... I for one find not downloading files very problematic. That is correct. It was requested to leave only the .msu files in the update folder so all other files will be moved to old. ianymaty
Make a request and maybe Lego will find a way to make another optional sepatate folder to gether all the other files that aren't .msu or .cab for those who want them.

I for one find not downloading files very problematic. Already discussed in some thread, there is an option named Update Catalog Filter in v39, that when unchecked, loads all the files on the server, not only .msu, .cab and .msp. I think the current implementation is just great, it's satisfying everyone.
Etz
They are pretty much the same. So basically 1.5 branch is mature enough for general release? (still wondering whats the actual difference between 1.4.1.1 and latest 1.5 beta) Edited December 16, 2012 by Etz
compstuff
I haven't been able to test lately so are you stating that this reported issue is resolved?http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/10628-update-catalog-confusion-v15/?p=92650 Already discussed in some thread, there is an option named Update Catalog Filter in v39, that when unchecked, loads all the files on the server, not only .msu, .cab and .msp. Legolash2o
(still wondering whats the actual difference between 1.4.1.1 and latest 1.5 beta) Nothing really. v1.5 had mostly bug fixes so far so i just made them available to the general public as v1.4.1.x
RicaNeaga
That issue is now fixed, compstuff, no? Lego, so the latest version is now on the 1.4 numbering scheme? It's confusing... 1.5 just got final, but named 1.4?
Legolash2o
I am working on v1.5.0 now. Any bug fixes though will be released as v1.4.
RicaNeaga
Ok, thanks. So, as usual, 1.5 will include all the bugfixes and also new requests / features added. Cool!

gahhrryy
*1.5.0.1^Ability to remove Metro apps when using Win 8 Will this completely remove/disable all Metro/Modern apps and allow a boot to the traditional Desktop? If so thank you 100x's! :prop: I thought I saw this feature in the full change log of 1.4.1.2 yesterday but it's gone today. Is this feature included? Where can I download 1.5.0.1? I can't find the link.
Legolash2o
Nope, it will just remove the Metro applications, not Metro itself.

gahhrryy
Nope, it will just remove the Metro applications, not Metro itself. Well it's a start. Just hoping to move Metro/Modern UI into the trash bin of history! Integrate one of those as silent installer and you got it http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php or http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/ Sideeffect is that you get your start menu also back... Thanks for the reply! I'm using Start 8 to get my start menu back. I tried Classic Shell but didn't care for it. Tried 3-4 others. May try StartMenu 8 for grins. http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/features.asp And where can I download 1.5.0.1?! ElmerBeFuddled
I have voted yes, but i would like to see this added: Adding Microsoft Update and disabling System RestoreI'll agree with the adding of MS updates. I have a link but on many occasions even that sends me to the "use your in built updater". Err... That's Windows updates, not MS updates!! bphlpt
That's Windows updates, not MS updates!! That's not correct, at least from what I understand. If you have "updated" to MU, ie you are getting updates "For Windows and other products from Microsoft Update" and not just Windows, then even though your "in built updater" is still titled Windows Update, it is indeed getting all the updates possible from Microsoft Update. Cheers and Regards Edited December 21, 2012 by bphlpt
