Automated testing is going very very well so far. It's picked up quite a few bugs and I've fixed them all. If things keep up being this well, WinToolkit v2.x should be a very stable release The hard and longest part of it is to think of as many tests are possible, and to make sure my tests are working correctly.

As part of the v2.x, I planned on revamping the exclusive downloads section. I've now moved it to a website in which you register and enter your license key too. Once registered you will be taken to a list of exclusive downloads. It is NOWHERE near finished and some downloads are still being uploaded but does anyone want to test the area and give feedback? Any ideas, comments, etc... UPDATE: No more places for now, got lots of feedback. I will ask again at a later date NOTE: All downloads should be uploaded within 2 hours as of writing this. The user details will only work for a while, like a day or two, as i'm still building it

In case you didn't know, I've been drafting up my proposal to finally work on a new Wintoolkit v2 as my final year project at university. It will be EPIC. I've received feedback and made changes to my proposal, just awaiting for further feedback. Once that is done, I will submit it I will keep you guys up-do-date in this thread as soon as I hear anything. Basically it will be starting WinToolkit from scratch. Here are a few things you should expect. · Make more use of mutli-tasking All-In-One Integrator will integrate wallpapers, gadgets and others at the same time as other tasks, saving even more time. Run other tools whilst integration is in progress. Conv…

Introduction So as you may or may not be aware. Win Toolkit v2.0 has been accepted to be my final year project. That means a year and a half of researching, re-designing, re-coding and re-testing). It will require me to start the project from scratch taking in lots of researching, coding practices and everything I've learnt in the first four years into one beautiful final product. At the moment the current Win Toolkit code is a big mess. It has a mixture of old rubbish code, sorta ok code and new code. Unfortunately that means adding your requests is really hard because as you know, it leads to quite a few bugs from just forcing it in there. Some of the big tools such a…

I'm considering the idea of having a FREE version and a PRO version of WinToolkit v2.x. It's not set in stone. So here are some questions: What do you think should be available to the PRO version but not the FREE version? Obviously driver + update integration will be free. How much would you be willing to pay for the PRO version?Any other input? I will add that if i did choose the pro / free options. I would have a bog standard installer with no offers and remove the ads (on links) for the pro users.

As part of my final year project (if approved). I will be focusing a lot on threading. Currently Win Tookit uses background workers with apparently are bad for performance. I've been experimenting and here are some results compare the current method used by Win Toolkit and a new method. Parallel will also use more CPU cores and I will let you choose in Options how many you want to use. By default it would be ProcressorCount - 1, so if you have a quad core with hyperthreading (8), it will use 7 by default. Test 1: The test was to get the MD5 values for 1300+ MSU files. -------------------------------------------- Not Updating GUI:- Current: 19270ms (19 seconds) New: …

I'll be starting programming again today since the interim report has been handed in. Is there anything you would like me to work on first? If anyone requests the AIO Integrator or WIM Registry Editor. It would mostly be the GUI has WIM Manager, where you select the desired image, would have to be done first I'm tempted to do the GUI for WIM Manager tonight and also the USB Boot Prep.

Hello. Just a quick question - how does one slipstream a service pack the right way? They come in .exe format, and the update integrator only accepst .msu or .cab and IE/XPM .exe's. Do I just add it to sielnt install or is there something I missed?

Do you guys think it would be useful if I made a small tool which would help you localize WinWoolkit? For example, it would download the latest template and ONLY show you what needs translating. Feel free to ask for some other requests for it too Another example is that it will then give you the chance to upload your template and in Win Toolkit itself, the user has a chance to download it from a list of user templates

With the error dialog done (apart from uploading). Today I'm taking the time to update the icons and GUI of existing screens, and most likely bug fixes too. Not all icons are final but any feedback which you can provide will be helpful.

This thread I post @BetaArchive with thought for some changes in Toolkit. Will be very usefull if the following it is possible, to be added in Toolkit: When you edit some WIM file WinToolkit using DISM for mount-unmount Modified date is not changed, and I've find out that if after mounting Wintoolkit capture the mounted folder and unmount with discarding changes from the first one, and put new captured install.wim to overwrite the old one, in Select Edition window date in "Modified date" will be changed. This will require additional time for whole prosedure, but it's good for keeping track, from what was the last time one edition was updated/edited. Select edition windo…

OK I've done a little test and made the MSU to CAB Converter work with 45 updates. Here are the results: v1.x, 1 at a time: 12 seconds. v2.x, 8 at a time: 3.5 Note: I have 8 logical processors (4 core + HT) If you have a 2 core CPU, it will do 2 at a time.

For those who are interested in what my desk looks like. This is my 'work' desk where I do all my programming although SVN does allow easy programming on my laptop when in bed Although you can't properly see it. That's the AIO Integrator being worked on.
