Windows 7 Toolkit v1.3.0 BETA

Recommended Posts

With my Autounattend.xml file I used my name with "Auto Logon", but it seems an error or a bad choice!

Instead use: Administrator!

I would like to create a user named user1 in administrators group with Autounattended.xml and apply autologon to user1

is that possible?

Yes like Legolash2o answered it's possible, but take care with built-in Administrator Auto Logon and User Account!

Simply creates 2 or more Uer accounts!

WOW it's been a busy weekend, just going to do a final test with the component removal and then i'll release the next version.

There's been so many changes (background) for example W7T will take ownership of files via code instead of icacls and takeown.exe which is much more stable, fixed a few unattended bugs, just fixing things in general.

EDIT: Component Removal seems a lot quicker...

After upgrading to v70, W7T does not finish anymore. Whenever I click the close button, its header changes to "Cleaning", and freeze. All configuration done is lost. It never happened in any previous version I have tested.

Also, v68 did not run at all, said I lack permissions, even after running as Administrator.

Had to go back to v60 and its running now.

BTW: Could not send bug report from inside W7T. "An exception occurred during a WebClient request." Tried with Anonymous and dioni21, my own username (although it did not ask for a password).

Can some with v71 please download this file, save it into W7T folder, then open and close W7T.

I have not been receiving any error logs for v71 so either all errors have been fixed or the uploading logs is broken :(

Thanks.

P.S. Please post in here when you have done it, thanks :D

Tonight - came back and found out I had downloaded a bogus program. Tried link again - had to look at a couple of items that wanted to be downloaded before I found file ERRORS.TXT and downloaded same.

Also downloaded version 72B. Started W7Toolkit, clicked a couple of items, shutdown toolkit. Checked folder - error message sent.

I think he's talking about getting something other than the ERRORS.TXT file, ie "PCPerformer_Jubse13t.exe", but I can't imagine how he managed to do that.

Hi Legolash2o,

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories > System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter -> Turn On Schedule -> (DISABLE) Run on a Schedule

When we DISABLE Run on a Schedule, it turns off automatic disk defragmenter. This tweak adds serious speed to Windows.

Does W7 Toolkit have this tweak? If it doesn't, can you add the tweak please?

@oguz, I'm not sure what you're asking - Legolash2o might, but I don't. The way I understand it, if you turn on a schedule for Disk Defragmenter it turns off the automatic defragmenter, which I believe is correct. You pick one or the other, you can't have both. Why would you want both? Or did I totally misunderstand you?

EDIT: And by the way - this is not the place for requests anyway.

Cheers and Regards

Hi, You are right. I did not give the complete explanation. I have corrected my message. Hope it is clear now.

In short, when we disable (turn off) the automatic disk defragmenter, windows will have more speed...

Context Menu;

Add 'God Mode' to Computer context-menu --- do not now

Edit :

Thus the "ini" can not load?

Because there was such a problem in older versions

      Hi Lego and the others,
I have have noticed the following regarding the Tweaks section :
      -many tweak descriptions aren't exhaustive
-lost tweak presets when importing session from W7T 1.3.x (not sure when this happened, maybe caused by one of the early alphas?)
-eventually make a checkbox to show the actual registry values to be added
-adding an option to export reg settings to a .reg file would allow to apply tweaks to a running system
      Desktop
add an option : show small desktop icons
Not sure this reg value works, though...
      [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]
      "Shell Icon Size"="32"
      Explorer
"Mouse Hover Time" cannot change any value here
      what is the difference between
"show all icons and notifications on the taskbar"
      and
      "show all icons on taskbar"
      and
"Taskbar buttons" in Desktop section (maybe this one is for running programmes' icons, not for those next to the clock?)
      IE
      GPU Rendering (IE9 only afaik)
I assume "Software Rendering OFF" means that GPU Rendering will be on.
"GPU Rendering ON (default) " and "GPU Rendering OFF" would be easier to understand
You have done great work so far with 1.4.x :thumbsup_anim:

      IE9 Language Packs
      MUI (Pack de Idiomas)

      · GDR: General Distribution Release.
      · QFE: Quick Fix Engineering.

      * Opcional: Eliminar versiones que no queramos con Wim Manager de Windows 7 Toolkit:

      * Señalar el archivo \sources\install.wim, con Browse for WIM, luego seleccionar las imágenes a eliminar...

      * Seleccionar la/s Imagen/es a Actualizar/Modificar con All-In-One Tool (selección múltiple disponible):

      Agregar Actualizaciones:
Hotfixes (los Integrate to installation media y Not integratable to Offline image no se integran)

      z01.IE9.Windows6.1-KB982861-x86.msu
      z02.IE9-Windows6.1-KB2569126-x86.msu
      z03.IE9-Windows6.1-KB2618444-x86.msu
      z04.IE9-Windows6.1-LanguagePack-x86-esn.cab

[*]Adicionales (sólo algunos se pueden integrar)

      * Crear Desatendido y guardarlo en lo que sería la raíz del DVD:

      * Creación de la ISO:

      1. Señalar la carpeta que contiene el instalador del Windows 7.
      2. Señalar la carpeta donde se creará la ISO.
      3. Etiquetar la ISO.
      4. Crear la ISO.

      * Probando la ISO con VirtualBox (RAM 768, Memoria de Video 128, HDD 20GB) :
