  4. I want to share with you my work. This is the order of slipstreaming the updates to windows 7 sp1 x64 and x86 with wintoolkit 1.4.46.1. Every step is separete integration proccess, you add updates in that order to the program and click Start button, and that's for each step. I am from Bulgaria and have included bulgarian language packs, so you can skip them or insert yours. In the process of creating this i met many problems, and this is the way to skip them. After these integration windows update will show only definition updates and the KB971033 update. Windows 7 SP1 x64 Step 1 updates: Win 7 SP1 lp X64.cab WUClient-SelfUpdate-ActiveX-x64-7.6.7600.320.cab WUClient…

  5. I am attempting to modify %ProgramFiles% and %ProgramFiles(x86)% definitions as well as a few minor directories during setup. What I am not sure of is where or when to apply this so windows copies the least amount of files to the default locations. If I have to, I will write a script that finds and replaces any registry entries already modified and use the results of the script to move those files to their new locations. Any guidance is greatly appreciated! Comments also!! I plan on using registry entries like the following. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Environment] "CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES"="F:\\Program Files\\" "CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILESX…

As I was told that the files written on a fast SSD would be best off if there was not alot changes to the disk or partition. I'm lucky to have a vertex3 ssd, so I want to be as kind to the SSD as possible. Few questions: 1) would be obviously smart to have the user files on a seperate partition, but what about the pagefile? and other system files? 2) would it be best to make a sysprep image and then once in a while just do a reinstall of the OS or would it be better to make an image backup with software like TrueImage or is there just a difference in preference? 3) any other advice about the disk structure of the OS regarding to SSD storage? Thanks all! :giveheart:

  9. If you have tried to install Windows 7 on a Surface Pro, or a UEFI-only device., you may have noticed it hangs on "Starting Windows" or gives error 0xc000000d, or you might have seen the following message: Expand However, this article proves that it isn't impossible to achieve this. This tutorial shows you how to install Windows 7 on a Surface Pro. This tutorial is meant for the Surface Pro 1, but could work on any other UEFI-only device, which it should, but not guaranteed. 12. I have with "update catalog" of win toolkit all microsoft updates integrated into my windows 7 image. However, when I look at windows update after installation I see that I still have about 100 updates to download and install. When I look at the list in windows update, I see the updates that I have added with "update catalog". What is going wrong? Must the update must be installed in a certain order? Maybe it's a stupid question but I am new in this matter.

Has anyone experienced after your PC is on for extended periods of time that you don't have any available memory left? Once my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 OS boots, memory usage is at about 32%, but after it runs through the day, memory usage jumps to more than 90%. no matter if I don't have any active programs. Once I hit that stage, I get the "insufficient resources when trying to open programs" error. It is probably related to some third party application having a memory leak. I've googled and found that it could be related with audiodg.exe which is a Creative driver process. Just for the record, I have 4GB of DDR2 RAM. I will try to track what's going on with process expl…

  16. This is the first time I've played with the $OEM$ folder and I'm getting lost!! I'm trying to run a setupcomplete.cmd to add five updates that never seem to take (for me) and some reg files. I've realised that HKCU needs to go after first logon so I'm trying to get setupcomplete.cmd to add a runonceex key that will launch firstlogon.cmd. But nothing seems to be working! 17. After having some problems with an unattended .xml file, I found out something interesting that I'm sure is really good-to-know. So, some speedy USB sticks have SSD controllers inside. Some of these flash drives (USB 2.0 and especially 3.0) are seen by windows and marketed as external SSDs, some not (ex: USB 3.0 drives that have SSD controllers). And for some reason (I don't know and I don't care why, another Microsoft snafu if you ask me) the Autounattend.xml file isn't working if you boot from one of these drives... maybe Autounattend file isn't the only thing that won't work. Tryed so far two of these drives (one Ridata USB 2.0 / eSATA SSD, one Corsair USB 3.0), and f…

  25. Well I've (nearly) got my AU.xml file setupcomplete.cmd and Firstlogon.cmd running pretty good. BUT!! I've only just noticed that I have a problem with the user account name. Should be User Account Elmer B. Fuddled Computer Name FEELGOOD-iNC but the user account name I'm ending up with is Elmer B. Fuddled.FEELGOOD-iNC. If I remove the computer name from the autounattend then I get a UI to name it, this new name then gets appended to my User Name. On the left is what it should be (a folder that I've slipped into the .wim file) and on the right... Account as made up for me. Is there anything that I can do to prevent this / where am I going wrong? autounattend.xml <?xml…
