Win Toolkit Discussions - Customize your Windows Images

  1. I started with Windows 8 Pro, then i convert it into ProfessionalWMC manualy. After then i run Component Remover (1.4.0.75), I removed about 60 packages and when i wanted to check, which packages are still in wim, component remover looks like this:

  2. I was completing my SoLoR updates and went to integrate these to the installation media as referenced in the updates but noticed the version in my source seems later than the version in the update. I checked the KB article and that just further confused me

I haven't integrated drivers in a long time and today while trying I notice some blue highlights on a few drivers but I'm not sure what that means since they all have different names.

Used KUC today for the first time and when I mounted an untouched Win 7 x86 source to the offline folder and started up KUC, it found 357 updates so I used the DISM script KUC generated and slipstream the updates into the Offline source and did a test load on my Asus machine and 15 Updates appeared still in MSU. I then did a test load with a untouched source with NO updates as in untouched and ran Legolash2o Update Retriever in the Win ToolKit and it found 127 updates so I downloaded and slipstream the 127 updates and did another test load and there was only 4 updates in MSU which is OK but my question is why would KUC find 357 plus updates and Update Retriever find 127? …

Hi i have made Windows 7 x86 and x64. WIndows7 Home, Pro, Ultimate. danish version. intergrated all update from windows update. (no driver are intergrated yet) then i used Aio disk creator to merge x86 and x64 together. and then i boot from USB stick. using usb 2.0 port. my question is, i wanna use usb 3.0 port to install windows7 aio. i put in the usb 3.0 drivers inside boot.wim so i could use usb 3.0. that works great. but when i get to the desktop. no drivers are loader for usb3.0. so WPI and other stuff that i shall load from the USB3.0 port does not work. then i intergrate usb3.0 drivers for all know usb 3.0 controller. and also some net drivers from driver pack.net…

  7. I've been poking around the Switchless Installers forum over at RyamVM and was wondering if their addons and switchless installer releases can be used with the All in One intergrator in W7T. ie: I've noticed that all their switchless installer releases are .7z archives. Can I just grab one, covert it to SFX and then just plug it in where applicable in W7T? Are their releases cross compatible with W7T? Heres an example I found over at RyanVM Switchess Installer forum If not, can someone please point me to a forum/post on WinCert that can assist me in making my own. I've looked around but cant seem to get a hit on my search query. Much appreciated.

  8. Hi, I tried today v74 but I got this issue: only one file of my 17 (OEMLOGO.BMP) appears in the tab and seems to be the only accepted; attached is the Files-tab from my .ini-file. I did not install Win7 yet; may be they are not listed, but will be integrated? The issue is present since v72. Do I need anything special to slipstream Vista Drivers to boot.wim with WTK? I have tried it and the process runs and slipstream is done in 10 seconds but no drivers really were slipstreamed and not sure why?

  10. Here are issues I found with the a-i-o creator: It no longer auto renames images. i.e adding a "86" or a "64" at the end. When editing a description is no longer shows the edited name during the intital install process. (I am attaching a xml for what I thought it did) When editing name and description and canceling it throws a " '' name already exists error"

Hi all. Stumbled upon W7T about a week ago. I must say it's quite impressive. I'm a little confused about the Update Retriever tool. I understand the description of the tool, however, I cant seem to figure out how the tool sorts updates from those that are 1. Critical Updates 2. Important Upates 3. Service Packs 4. Optional Updates I understand that the files found under the Windows Update tab come from using the Windows Update Feature of W7, but I am not understanding is the sources of the files found under the CAB files tab. I'm concerned that if I intergrate the entire list and install W7 on lets say a system that doesnt need a certain update will break the installatio…

  13. Is it possible to remove updates that have already been installed into a image using WinToolkit? Is there another way to do this? Thanks, Mike

  14. Started by Legolash2o,

Win Toolkit is a lightweight and easy to use application that was created in order to help you customize your Windows installation! With this tool you can integrate Addons, Drivers, Gadgets, Language packs, Modified Files, Theme Packs, Tweaks, Silent Installers, Updates. You can also remove features such as Windows Media Player and customize Windows default services state. Win Toolkit also comes with extra tools which helps you convert files, make ISOs, download the latest updates (thanks to SoLoR and McRip), and completely customize your images to tailor your Windows installation disk to your exact needs. Win Toolkit is the new name for Windows 7 Toolkit as it also works…

Sorry if the question has already been. As a win toolkit to integrate service pack 1?

  16. I added several "setup.exe" files in different directories to the silent installer. When I integrate the project they are all thrown into the same directory and inevitably most are overwritten. Furthermore, the files from the source directories (when included) are comingled. Identically named files should be given separate directories (e.g., \setup, \setup1, \setup2, etc) so they will not clash

  17. I saw this in an earlier version but had not seen it again until today. Normally when I run WinToolkit, I do it in the foreground without doing anything else. Today I was browsing the web with WT in the background working away. It's been stuck at this status prompt for over 30 minutes: "Integrating Reg [Compressing]: 51 of 69 (Change Logon Background)" I just clicked Cancel and the status bar says "Stopping, please wait..." No real movement here, either. Will force quit and reboot to try again. It's my intent to start over again in about two minutes. Is there a log I can send you? Many thanks from an appreciative user in Atlanta. MARK STRELECKI

After the MSU to CAB Coverter complete the process can delete the original files ?

  21. Started by compstuff,

I am guessing that McRip re-uploaded all the files so they now have date changes because I show all 474 files needing to be downloaded when I do an update... but v33 doesn't show all the updates as needed downloads... I actually don't even think v33 showed all the updates

Using ver.71 and I noticed two bugs which occur when loading session from .ini. Saving session works fine AFAIK. 1. Silent Installs section. If the switches are separated by space, only the last part is loaded. For example, SPTD requires "add /q" switch, but it loads as "/q", resulting in failed installation. 2. Files section. If you have two different entries with the same filename, only one of them is loaded. For example, changing the buttons in explorer for a better match with a theme requires replacing ExplorerFrame.dll in both System32 and SysWOW64 on a x64 system. In my case, only the entry about the 32-bit system file is loaded.

My system: Win7 Ultimate x64 Desired system: Win7 Starter x86 Source: clean unmodified Win7 Home Premium x86 Win Toolkit 1.4.0.71 Symptoms: error showed up when Component remover finished its job and it was time to save/unmount image. After I click Save, I get this: "Error trying to commit image" but when I click OK, it finished properly. I fired it up again afterwards and saw the components were removed. Same thing happens if I choose Registry editor. Not sure about other options (ie., AIO), haven't tried yet. Will do and report back if error repeats. Log below: The weird part is - I have over 10GB of free space on C drive.

  24. I am contemplating doing the following: - integrating all my desired updates & silent installs into a "base" image - making multiple copies of the same image (Machine1, Machine2, etc.) - on each of those directories, integrating additional drivers, etc. (for use on different machines) Will each of the copies retain all of the updates & installs that were part of the "base" image? (The desired advantage being that I save 2 hours of integration time for each machine, by not having to duplicate the updates)
