Win Toolkit Requests

Please post your Win Toolkit requests here

  1. Hi Lego, when you're going to work on the "Component Remover" to add more things to remove, i.e., all the languages, more drivers, keyboards, etc. Also showing the estimate size of removal of the component, you know, making your tool more suitable for a complete vLite replacement .

In v1.3.0.41A+ you can now select reg files on the AIO Tool (Tweak Tab), you don't have to convert the reg file, Win Toolkit will do this for you. This new feature lets you import your own custom tweaks via Win Toolkit. ------------------------------------------------------ My point is that you don't have to make a request for every tweak BUT if you think a tweak will be great for other users, feel free to share in this thread. Also make sure W7T does not already contain the tweak(s). --Zimmer--- a handy reference for tweaks is the Group Policy Settings Reference - this lists the registry keys here's the direct link to the Win 7/Server 2008 sheet... WindowsServer2008R2and…

You know someting that could work lego, you could integrate the updates into the lowest sku and export it many times and then use dism to convert the next higher "target edition" (same way method used to turn Windows 8 Pro to ProfessionalWMC) Integrate the updates into Starter (for x86 iso's) or into Home Basic (for x64,) then you export it multipple times, mount each image and covert & rename them BTW off topic but you should see this new feature in Windows 8, its very, very cool you should find a way of adding this command to your tool http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/153742-dism-improvements-in-windows-8/page__view__findpost__p__1015509

  4. Hi Lego, I will be very happy if you can add: - an option to have MS Update enabled (instead of Windows Update) done see this - an option to disable system restore done see this - an option to disable Windows Defender edit: not the service. - an option to not not show the "send to recycle bin" confirmation when you hit the "supp" key. Thank you !

  5. I dont know if the option is available elseware in the toolkit but the ISO maker should have an option to split the image over several DVD/CD's for those whose WIM is too large to fit on a single DVD or who only have a CD Rom drive they can span it over multiple CD's

Hey lego (whenever you get back) you should see about having Win Toolkit play nice with KUC (komms update checker), all you would need to do is generate a packages.txt for KUC of the offline image, run KUC and point it to the packages.txt to see what updates are needed (it creates a file packages_OUT.txt that you could see about being able to load it into Win Toolkit for a list of updates that are needed/can be removed)

HI There, I wanted to request the following, since it'll be a good idea for the general integrators: Req: Add the Following functionality to the Unattended Creator: A.- Ability to Autologon. B.- Ability to enable only the administrator and its password. C.- Ability to select the workgroup. D.- Ability to auto-join a domain. E.- Ability to NOT activate the serial, even if it has been inputed. F.- Ability to Auto-Partition the Hard Drive. G.- Ability to Auto-Select Language, Locale, Keyobard Locale, and Time Zone. H.- Ability to create additional users, and select if they're local administrators. Req: Add the following functionality to W7T: A.- Ability to default to all use…

  8. Would it be Possible to Customize the boot screen images and animations to something of your choice on windows 7 & 8? id really love this feature and im sure many users would use it maby you could build a boot screen integrator that can import users custom boot screens and people can share them as a file with a format recognized by win toolkit like .WA but WB. or something similar.

After selecting all the tweaks a button to export the current tweaks to a reg file. Sometimes I wish I could apply the same settings in an already Windows 7 installation.

  10. I noticed that when i download for example McRip Win7 x64 all the downloaded files had their modify dates changed to current date. I would like if WTK would respect and preserve file dates as they appear on the server.

First thanks for great application, and hard work. It's saves me lot of time. I am thinking is possible somehow to install famous SVCPACK addons as we do in XP (a T-13). I don't know is right place exist, but will be nice before last restart, and to be part of main install before first run and OOBE, and only for sfx/switchless/silent installers.

  12. Hey Liam, At the moment, WTK use martins uxtheme-patcher, that pacht just uxtheme.dll, shsvcs.dll and themeui.dll: http://www.syssel.net/hoefs/software_uxtheme.php?lang=en It would be nice to have a option to use custom resources for example explorere.exe and shell32.dll. It exist various "Patcher" they can be also added into WTK as tweak, same way as theme-patcher. BTW: It would be much better that WTK patch/add the files itself instead of 3thparty tools. Explanation: Hacking dlls are old school, this method is outdated. The new way is to change resources directly in ram at windows start. Some tools make a reg for use a dll that replacing images for example. Here is …

An idea came to me while reading another thread (you could probably guess which one). Would it be possible to modify the manner in which WinToolKit runs the silent installers? By this I mean instead of using the "RunOnce" registration key to launch all of the installers, use only one to start the process. The "process" would read a text file (in the currently used apps folder) that has each installer listed (one per line) with its necessary parameters. In addition, I believe that WinToolKit has more than one mode of installation (all, minimal, etc), so more than one text file can be used for each mode. Reasoning behind this request: What is currently in place is a …

Ram is cheap these days and like many others i have more than i really need. So my thought is what about an option that we can tick that then causes win toolkit to use ram drive for mounting instead of the normal location. ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver "http://www.ltr-data.se/opencode.html/" is a free open Source program that supports creating ram drives on any windows including 7 & 8 32bit or 64bit. If this was then built into win toolkit you could set up comand line options to auto create ram drive of a preset size and assign drive letter, then win toolkit would proceed with the normal operations to the ram drive ie mount image integrate etc. Also users need a way to …

Hi, it would be nice to have the possibility to create profiles in WTK. For example: Lets say i have 3 cases of different Software to install. So a menu where i can define profiles like: work, work2, private. Then when i add Silent Installers and SFX an option is needed to say this belongs to profile work and/or work2 and/or private. Then when Installer appears i dont need to choose out of a list lets say 100 product, i then only choose one of the profiles. That would be much more comfortable and is easy to realize for lego, all it needs is the form where to define profiles (save them), then the addition to choose the profiles a software belongs to while adding …

Hey, Currently if i need to install or need to put files into a iso i will need to use dism and mount it and copy the files over, But mostly i use wintoolkit for about everything, so would it be possible to have a new tab where i can select files + directory where to put files ? As this would save a ton of time when i need to do 5 different mounts + 4 for 64bit. Sample, placing the SetupComplete.cmd file, Would be nice if i could just select the file and it would be added, + other files i have SetupComplete.cmd set to run or move etc. I have some applications i would love to have in the iso like panda cloud, flash, adobe reader, open office etc. But not pre-installe…

  17. Hi All, Has anyone here heavily tried/used these alternatives: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/35650-Creating-a-Windows-8-1-AIO-with-Media-Center-manually http://www.winreducer.net/ http://www.nliteos.com/ If so, how do they compare to Windows Toolkit IYO? I'm wanting to create a bootable Window 7 Ultimate USB flash drive... But, I also want to merge a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade into that install environment. The copy of Windows 8 Pro I've bought is a upgrade only, + it's a single license only. So I'm worried I'll run into problems trying to merge them into a bootable install env? Plus, how big would my USB flash drive need to be? I understand 4GB should suffice…

  20. Hey Liam, It would be nice to have dims image-cleanup functions as options in AIO-Integrator. With some dism functions you can cleanup an offline image and make iso smaller: C:\Users\Zer0\Desktop\Waik_4_1\x86\Dism\Dism.exe /Image:C:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase It can integrate as Win8 Tweak, i think. It would be nice if WTK can also this things automatically if users want this.

  21. I don't know if I should have created a new thread but I would like the ability to disable compents rather than completely removing them. For example I might want to have Gadgets later on but i don't want them on by default.

  24. sir plz tell me how to remove a particular gadget from windows 7 sp1 iso image? like gadget, how to remove a particular sound file/wallpaper/screen saver etc from windows 7 image ? In component removal tool, wintoolkit should display all the existing gadgets/sound files/pictures/wallpapers/drivers so that we can choose which we have to delete or which we have to keep in image.

Hi, I know it's been mentioned before, but are there any plans to be able to have Win Toolkit be able to create auto partitions? In the meantime if anyone could tell me the xml that will just create one partition © to install Windows on I'd be very pleased. Or is the minimum 2 partions - one 100mb system one and the other Windows? Thanks, Graybags
