I realize XP is way outdated, but i do have numerous XP clients that I reinstall on occasion. Under the TOOLS menu in WINTOOLKIT there is normally the option for Driver Installer (I see it on a windows 7 machine but not on an XP machine). I installed DISM & .net framework 3.5 and still dont see this option. Am i missing something? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  6. Hello I hope this is the right forum for a Windows xp question When Windows detects new hardware (be it graphic card or USB Peripheral) it automatically installs driver and if it can't find a driver it shows "Found New hardware wizard" that allows you to manually select a driver. My problem is that this "Found New hardware wizard" shows up every time when I plug a new device and I have to click Next Next Next.. until it finishes installation. It's just like in Windows 98 I want to fix it to the way it's supposed to be. It got nothing to do with "Windows Update" and "Driver Signing" settings in "System properties -> Hardware" tab, those are on default settings.…

  10. Hi there, reeding this thread, I see that someone has find a way to make a more clean MCE image. "About integrating Service Pack 3 into Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The following scenario is fully workable: 1. You need to use DXUPAC MCE Slipstreamer SP3. 2. Integrate with nLite YumeYao_WMP10_Addon_ENU_V3_4_5. (Because SP3 downgrade WMP10 to WMP9 in MCE_2005 CD1, and WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB900325-usa.exe contain multiple updates for WMP10 - with this addon that all are pre-integrated.) 3. You are done, and you have WinXP MCE 2005 with SP3 (Media Center 3.0, not 2.8 like nLite do, and fully updated WMP10) 4. After Installation you need to install NETF…

Hi there, I've found a lot of add-on packages and tranform packages for MCE, but what I want is Media Center EXE or MSI installer which can be able to install mce on every Windows NT 5.1 (xp, server 2003, x64, xp betas). My idea comes from this topic needed files: medctroc.inf file and mediactr.cab command: rundll32 syssetup,SetupInfObjectInstallAction Freestyle 128 medctroc.inf but I don't want to search for mediactr.cab, I want to fully automated this process. last action is tweak nt to convert edition to mce - I think this can be manage with registry setting. Is not really metter how gonna be batch, exe, msi installer, I just want to be automated and if…

  18. hi I'm not a total beginner as I have already slip streamed SP3 on top my original SP2 CDROM. However I am new to nlite 1.491 and and the addition of files such as http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/5747-addon-internet-explorer-8-enu-true-addon/ OnePiece IE8 WinXPSP3 v3.5.0 AddOn ENU I have extracted the files from the 7z zip file into a folder. I have copied my CD ROM files (XP SP3) to another folder and I have Nlite 1.4.9.1 installed. My aim is to protect my investment in Windows XP long after 8-Apr-2014. 1. Add IE8 to the CD. These are both tools to add network support to Windows PE, but I wonder if they can be used with an installed Windows XP SP3. The reason I ask is, I want to boot Windows XP SP3 but change some settings before booting is completed, such as, the Computer Name, the NIC IP settings and things like that. With Windows PE there are scripts available, but I have no idea when to load this on a normal installation. I figured out already that a User Profile script is simply running too late during boot process and will not allow changes such as Computer Name (you will need another reboot for that). I know I can use those network tools inside Windows XP too, but how do I use them to …

Posted this to MSFN, but after a week I've still gotten no responses, hopefully I can get a better turnout here: I've done some slipstream work with XP, Vista, and 7, and working in a computer shop I'm finding that a lot of recent viruses are permanently infecting system files, making them impossible to remove without reinstalling or doing major internal work on the OS. Obviously this is where SFC comes in, however, I've had some issues with it, and I'm wondering if you guys have any resolutions for me: 1. SFC won't work properly in XP using my slipstreamed discs. I've read that updating IE and other changes causes issues with being able to use the disc for the files, so …

I have request for you to make me an two addons to my two operating systems: Windows 2000 Professional SP4 and XP Media Center Edition SP2 addons for high definition audio architecture KB888111. nLite integrates this hotfixes normally but removes to SVCPACK folder so they are installed in T-13 but I want TRUE addons. Who would be so helpful and make this TRUE addons? I know, it's possible to make TRUE addons from this hotfixes but I'm not familian with this subject. I give you link for this hotfixes - both are compressed by WinRAR. http://speedy.sh/XjTcJ/Desktop.rar if you make it, please upload on for example…

I got a question. I know how to sysprep. I know how to capture an XP image with imageX and I can restore that captured image with imageX no problem from WinPE. My question is, is there anyway to make the XP.wim bootable like Vista and Win7? I know that Vista and Win7 use boot.wim to actually install the install.wim but will bootmgr and rename the XP.wim to install.wim maybe do the same thing?
